They also learn the Pythagorean Theorem. Kids use line equations to show and solve different problems. They understand that a function is a rule. For each thing you put in, you get only one thing out. Functions show how one amount depends on another. Kids use what they know about distance and angles with shapes. They see how shapes move, turn, and flip. They learn when shapes are exactly the same or just the same shape but different sizes. This helps them understand and solve shape problems. Without a doubt, history is a topic that can be easily overlooked by our students. Sometimes, it can be difficult for them to make connections with the past in a way that makes sense to them. Being able to provide students with meaningful resources is the best way to get over this learning curve. Whenever you have a social studies topic to introduce or review, you want to find engaging products that you know your students will be able to learn from. Within my store, you will find a plethora of social studies resources to utilize with your students. What You Get: This is a 28th Amendment Project. There are 10 slides in the presentation and 2 pages for the brainstorming chart, which is an editable Word document. This is an inquiry learning project that will challenge students to consider what amendment they would seek to have passed if a 28th amendment could be added. The presentation provides brief explanations and guides students through brainstorming. How To Implement This Resource: You should print off enough copies of the brainstorming chart for each student to have, so they can make notes on it as they follow along with the presentation. Encourage them to make notes on the back of the paper or on separate pieces of paper until they are sure about the amendment they think should be implemented. As you work through the presentation, you will be taking students through a brainstorming process about adding a 28th Amendment. Some things students will consider are: -- Issues that exist with how the Constitution works -- Social issues or financial issues within the country -- Which groups of people might oppose a certain amendment -- Finding reputable sources, without a motive, for their research These slides provide great opportunity for engagement and whole group discussion before students dive into their research. Tracing Cards - Laminating these allows repeated use in a writing center, helping students practice writing word family words. Beginning Sound Cards - Students identify and fill in the correct initial sound for each picture. Spelling Cards - Students practice spelling the words depicted on the word cards. Digraph Clip Cards - Students select and clip the correct AN word or picture on each card. Sorting Activity - Students distinguish between pictures that are part of the word family and those that are not. These activities allow students to read AN words, spell at words, and to sort images to gain a better grasp of rhyming and other literacy skills. When to Use: Early Finishers - When students finish their work, they can complete this activity while waiting on their classmates to finish their assignments. Quiet Time Activity - Students who have trouble napping can complete one of these worksheets during quiet times. Independent practice - Students can work on these centers alone at their desks. Literacy Centers - Students can work alone or with a partner to complete these activities in a literacy or phonics center. Reference Cards - The reference cards are a great way to introduce or review AN words. Dry erase markers can be used with beginning sound and spelling cards for a write-and-wipe activity, while magnet letters or letter tiles can facilitate a hands-on spelling activity. Skills Evaluated: Reading AN Words Writing AN Words Spelling AN Words Each center requires minimal preparation. Just print, cut out, and laminate if desired. Once prepared, each center can be used repeatedly.

Letter recognition sorting mats. Beginning Letter Sound Recognition. ABC Mats Beginning Sounds Cut and Paste Worksheets This resource can be used in two ways. You can print on color paper, laminate and use as sorting mats. Add velcro to the pieces to make it more fun and easier to use. Add a dry erase marker for the letter tracing activity. You can also use this same resource as worksheets. Kids will cut and paste the pieces to be sorted, then trace the letters and color the pictures. I use them in both was. We use the laminated mats in class as literacy centers or small group activity. And I send the same pages as homework or kids use it as extra practice in class. I like that kids find it comforting to use the same activity in a different version as it is already familiar but also new in a way. It is especially beneficial with kids needing more practice with their letter recognition. If you like this resource you may find other ABC resources in my store useful. There is are pages with just letter tracing for more handwriting practice or the ones with letters and simple sentences for even more handwriting practice that helps with early sentence formation skills. These dental health themed number cards are perfect for students who are learning with a dental theme. They make the perfect tool for students to learn the names of the number. What is Included: This set includes one number card and one number word card for all numbers up to 20. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by matching the numbers to their number words. Attach a paper clip to a number card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the numbers for a fun fishing game. Use a sand or salt tray for students to practice writing the numbers or number words on each card. Have students find the numbers that you have hidden around the room for a fun number hunt. Place the number cards in numerical order. Create a pocket char game where you place the cards on a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the numbers. The students will guess which number the hidden picture is behind. Add objects so students can count to the number on the card. The time before the holidays can get a little crazy in the classroom. Students are ready for a break and teachers are too! Keep your class engaged with EIGHT Days of math review! The ACTIVITIES are suitable for 5th grade and 6th grade. They are great for easy and fast sub plans. I use them as an 'end of the day carrot' that my students look forward to. They can't leave for the day without getting a step closer to finding Santa so it helps them to stay focused throughout the day so that we have time for the fun activity at the end of the day. One of the best parts: NO PREP required! This is not only great for distance learning but also great if you have run out of copies for the month and need a digital version fast... or if you just forget to make your copies for the week. (It's happened to me! - too. many things to keep track of) The pages do print beautiful in color and black and white if you have the time, but don't fret if you don't. Just assign it on Google Classroom - directions included. If you haven't taught the topic yet, it is a great mini lesson and if you have taught it, it can act as a review.
