Color Foxgloves: Science Coloring Pages
Creative Arts, Art, Science, Life Sciences, Nature & Plants, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, Activities
Color Foxgloves: Science Coloring Pages Here is a picture of Foxgloves for children to colour this spring/summer! Who is this colouring picture of Holly for? Anybody. Older children will extend the activity further than younger ones, Suitable fro class use Suitable fro homeschool botany or nature study lessons, Charlotte Mason style. Uses for these colouring sheets Use to help children learn the name of Foxgloves and to recognise them. Use as part of a science lesson on plants/flowers/pollinators (as bees love Foxgloves!) Paint or colour. Use to make greeting card The study of the natural world is the foundation for the later study of science. The colouring of pictures of natural things, be it plants or animals is more than a pastime activity. It is a means of familiarising young children with these everyday subjects. The colouring of this Foxglove picture can of course be used as a pastime, or even as part of a creative lesson - the picture looks super made into a greeting card of all kinds. But it has the potential to teach much more. The Curriculum for Science expects children to be taught to use the local environment to study plants and animals, throughout the year. What better than to use familiar subjects - such as Foxgloves which is sure to attract attention in summer with their large, bright pink flowers? The name alone gives cause for thought: fox-gloves? And insects, especially bees can be seen following the trail on the landing pad up into the 'bell' to find nectar. There's plenty to talk about! Colouring can help children to become familiar with the parts of the Foxglove plant and ask questions: What are the leaves like? Why is there a pattern on the flower? What is inside a berry? (the nectar). Why do the flowers need the insects to pollinate them? Colouring a picture of Foxgloves can also help children become familiar with the particular characteristics of a plant - its shape, colour, and special features, for example. It is best if children colour the Foxglove picture following close observation, from reference books, or after looking at Foxgloves in real life. see if you can find them growing in the vicinity of your home/school. What is included in the pack? 1 sheet to be coloured 1 sheet giving an example of how the picture could be coloured.

Need a fun, engaging activity for practicing skip counting by 10 with your kiddos? This math bingo game is perfect for getting your students focused on skip counting in 10s! Preparation: Print and laminate enough Bingo Boards for each student to have one Optional: print, cut and laminate the Playing Squares Print, cut and laminate the Calling Cards. Lamination is optional, but recommended, as it will ensure that the game remains in good condition and can be used for many years to come! To avoid excessive printing and laminating, the Playing Squares could be replaced with other manipulatives such as buttons or counters. Alternatively, students could mark squares off on their Bingo Boards with dry erase markers and then simply clean the boards again after playing (provided that you have laminated the boards) How to Play: Each student needs a Bingo Board and at least 7 Playing Squares (or other manipulatives or a dry erase marker) Shuffle the Calling Cards and place them in a pile. Draw a Calling Card and call out and/or display the contents of the card. Each student looks on their Bingo Board for a block that matches the Calling Card. If they find one, they cover that block with a Playing Square. Draw a new Calling Card and repeat the process. The game continues until somebody wins. To win, a student must shout out “BINGO!” when they have covered three blocks in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). If the Calling Cards run out before anybody wins, simply shuffle them again and continue playing. Please note: Sometimes there may be more than one block on the Bingo Board that matches the Calling Card. The student may only cover one block on a turn. sh articulation | ch articulation | j articulation | Kids will LOVE shaking the egg carton while targeting their "ch, j, and sh" sounds! Over 90 target words for /ʧ/, /ʤ/, and /ʃ/ in all word positions! Three different games/activities included. For articulation groups or individual therapy. Great for springtime but can be used all year long! ***COLOR AND BLACK AND WHITE OUTLINE COPY INCLUDED ✏ DIRECTIONS FOR USE Three different games/activities included. For articulation groups or individual therapy. 1. Dice Word Drill Place a regular dice in your egg carton with your overlay affixed to the top. Have the student shake up the box and open it. Wherever the dice lands, the student must say the corresponding word however many times the dice says. For example, if the student shakes the box and the dice lands on five under the word “cheese,” the student must say the word “cheese” five times. •Student can use the Monitoring Card to check off the words they have already said and to rate their productions. •To use Sentence Strips with this activity , play as directed above except instead of saying the word only, they must say it in a sentence. 2. Word Match-Up Cut up the little “match-up” word squares and place one in your egg carton with the corresponding overlay affixed to the top. Have the student shake up the box and open it. The student is trying to make the little picture land in the space that matches with the same picture in the top overlay. If the little picture lands under a word that doesn’t match, the student must say that word and try again until they match. Once they get the right match, the student can use the Monitoring Card to check off the word. Repeat until all words have been matched. 3. Picture Search Cut up the little “match-up” word squares and place one in your egg carton with the corresponding overlay affixed to the top. Have the student shake up the box but do not open it. Use the sentence strips to guess where the picture will be. Have them ask, “Where is the ____?” “Is it under the ___?”. If they get it wrong, try again. If they guess right, use the sentence strip, “I found the ____!” ♥ I suggest printing on card stock and laminating. Use tape to affix overlay to egg carton. When printing, do not scale down image for best fit on egg carton. ♥ Each purchase of this product is for one professional user only.
