Final ND Blend Find and Colour Phonics Worksheet
Special Resources, ELA, Special Education Needs (SEN), Language Development, Phonics, Kindergarten, Preschool, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
This final blend _ND fun, Find and Color worksheet for final blends is excellent for acquainting children orally with final consonant blends and helping them develop the necessary phonemic awareness in preparation for more advanced blending work, involving four phonemes. What is included in the pack? One PDF sheet for the final _ND blend. What do the worksheets involve? Pupils are instructed to combine the two letters on the worksheet and then look for objects that end with that consonant blend. Then, these items ought to be coloured, leaving the others uncoloured. Children can easily work on the sheet unaided once they have been instructed, although, with those children with special needs, it is strongly suggested that an adult works with the child for maximum benefit. How to use The introduction of the concept of final blends needs to be done thoroughly. When I work with children, especially those with a special need, I first like to teach children to blend two consonant letters. Then I work on developing the children's phonemic awareness: that being the ability to hear two consonant letters blended at the end of a word, easily. Some children find final blends easier than initial blends as they can sound out the first three sounds, and simply add a fourth: h-a-n: han-d. I call /n/ 'naughty' 'n' as he likes to hide in words: children are apt to miss out the nasal sound and spell hand as 'had'. I then ask them to sound back what they have written and we laugh. Often they can quickly insert the missing letter, having had plenty of practice aurally, such as this sheet affords. However all pupils need practice, some more than others. These worksheets can assist by first encouraging students to blend the two consonant letters and then by helping them to hear the blend at the end of a word. As often as you can, practice blending the letters in each final blend and encourage the students to follow suit. I find that modelling is key at this stage. Who are the final blends Find and colour worksheets for? Young learners Those with a special need Due to their non-babyish nature, they can be successfully used with older ESL/EFL pupils. Answer keys: The answer key is included on the sheet, in small print.

Freedom Writers (2007): Complete Movie Guide This is a comprehensive teaching resource designed to engage students and underscore the societal discussions presented in this powerful film. It's a tool suited for grade levels 6 through 10, intended to enhance Language Arts education through its compelling narrative. The movie, which draws inspiration from Erin Gruwell's influential book The Freedom Writers Diary, explores themes such as racial division, poverty, violence and the power of empathy set within Woodrow Wilson High School in Eastside, Long Beach. The school reveals a mixture of ethnic backgrounds reflecting different outlooks on life. This guide equips students with 29 questions while watching the movie. The questions range between higher-level contemplative queries and lower-level factual ones. An additional fact or fiction chart prompts critical thinking as students distinguish between cinematic representations and true accounts. This interactive design supports teachers in sparking classroom discussions. This can be done either within larger groups where diverse ideas can prosper or smaller intimate ones for promoting community closeness—this enhances comprehension further within each setting. The guide also serves as engaging homework allowing time for individual contemplation. An annotated Teacher version along with a ready-to-print Student version offers easy implementation without compromising educational standards or objectives. This saves teachers' preparation time too . In addition, some text samples from the film link theory directly to examples - this aids relatability across learners of varied learning capabilities. Note: While Freedom Writers (2007) is one chapter in our inspiring democracy battling myriad equally inspiring challenges, it is, after all, just one story in our ongoing narrative about humanity! Enjoy sowing the seeds of comprehension within your class using this incredibly impactful resource!

Biting Social Story
Special Resources, Social Skills, Not Grade Specific,
Social stories use a patient and reassuring tone to teach children about social situations in a way that can be easily understood. Social stories are particularly useful for children on the autistic spectrum for whom social cues can be challenging and who often suffer anxiety if they do not know what to expect from a situation however social stories can also be useful for any child who is struggling to understand a situation or concept or needs help to understand a social skill or social cue, expectations, perspectives, common responses or is troubled about an upcoming event. This social story is to support children who have been biting others. It explains that biting others hurts them and is unacceptable. These books should be used over and over to reinforce the point so I would suggest either putting the pages into a display book or laminating and binding them. Clipart images courtesy of Kari Bolt.
