Learning Numbers with Vikings – Creative Pennant Banner - Bunting
Holiday & Seasonal, Math, Early Math, Counting, Numbers, Montessori, Special Education Needs (SEN), Special Resources, History, Social Studies, Preschool, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, Activities, Worksheets & Printables, Teacher Tools, Projects, Templates, Classroom Decor, Door Decor, Posters, Bulletin Boards, Banners
Learning Numbers with Vikings – Creative Pennant Chain Creative Pennant Banner - Bunting A playful number line for early math skills with a Viking theme ⚔️🔢 This printable number pennant chain helps students in early grades (K–2 or 1–3) practice counting from 0 to 20 – all within a fun and imaginative Viking setting. Each pennant features a number, a matching number of Viking-themed illustrations, and a rustic wood-frame design that gives the entire chain a cohesive and storybook-like look. What makes this material stand out is the thoughtful visual support: for every number, students see a set of hand-drawn Viking clipart items (e.g., shields, helmets, swords), clearly corresponding to the number shown. This helps learners make the connection between numerals and quantity – an essential early math skill. What’s included: Numbers 0–20 as printable pennants (PDF) Each number illustrated with a matching number of Viking-themed images Two versions: full-color and black-and-white for coloring activities Wooden-look frames and connectors to complete the Viking design Tips for classroom use included Ideas for classroom use: You can hang the pennant chain across the classroom as a number line or let students help assemble it during a math lesson. The black-and-white version works well for individual coloring tasks, giving students ownership over their learning space. Some teachers use it in math centers, others during Viking-themed project weeks. The visual repetition supports number sense and makes abstract numbers feel more concrete. I’ve found that students who usually struggle with counting feel more confident when they can match numbers to something they can see and count. The resource is easy to print and use, and no extra materials are needed beyond scissors and string. Laminating the pennants will help them last across multiple school years. This is more than just a decoration – it’s a tool for early math learning wrapped in a bit of adventure. 📍 Best wishes, Heike from @Lernfitness Did You Know? Cognitive Triangle Poster
Special Resources, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Special Education Needs (SEN), Not Grade Specific, Posters, Classroom Decor
In cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), the cognitive triangle is a conceptual framework that illustrates the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It is often used to help individuals understand how their thoughts influence their feelings and actions. The cognitive triangle consists of three components: 1) Thoughts: This refers to the cognitive processes, beliefs, and interpretations that individuals have about themselves, others, and the world around them. Thoughts can be rational, helpful, and realistic, or they can be distorted, negative, and unhelpful. CBT emphasizes identifying and challenging negative or distorted thoughts to promote healthier thinking patterns. 2) Emotions: Emotions are the subjective experiences and feelings that individuals have in response to their thoughts and interpretations. Emotions can range from positive (such as happiness and joy) to negative (such as sadness, anxiety, or anger). The cognitive triangle highlights that thoughts can directly influence emotions, and changing one's thoughts can lead to changes in emotional experiences. 3) Behaviors: Behaviors represent the actions or reactions that individuals engage in based on their thoughts and emotions. Thoughts and emotions can significantly influence one's behavior and choices. For example, if someone has negative thoughts about their abilities, they may avoid certain activities or situations. CBT aims to help individuals identify unhelpful behaviors and develop healthier behavioral responses based on more accurate thinking patterns. The cognitive triangle suggests that there is an interconnectedness between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. By understanding and addressing each component, individuals can work towards positive changes in their lives. CBT techniques, such as cognitive restructuring, focus on identifying and modifying negative or distorted thoughts to promote more balanced thinking, healthier emotions, and adaptive behaviors. Therapy Dog - Helping Students Reflect with Therapy Dogs 🐶💭

Helping Students Reflect with Therapy Dogs 🐶💭 There’s something special about the presence of a therapy dog in the classroom. Even the most restless students seem to relax. Some kids who rarely speak up suddenly open up. And for many, it’s the first time they’ve had a chance to experience the unconditional support that a dog offers. But what if we took that experience and turned it into a learning moment? That’s exactly what this reflection activity does. It helps students think about what kindness means, why responsibility matters, and how their actions affect others—whether those others have two legs or four. Why This Activity Feels Different ✔ It gets students thinking, not just answering. It’s not about memorizing facts. It’s about pausing for a moment and reflecting on simple but meaningful questions. ✔ It connects emotions with actions. Why do therapy dogs have rules? Why does kindness matter? These questions lead to unexpectedly deep discussions. ✔ It’s easy for any grade level. Younger kids can draw their answers, while older students might write or discuss. No one feels left out. ✔ It works with or without a therapy dog. Even if your school doesn’t have one, this still sparks conversations about empathy and responsibility. ✔ No prep required. Just print it out, hand it to students, and let them think. How I Use It in My Classroom 📌 First, we talk. I ask, “How do animals teach us about kindness?” or “What do therapy dogs need from us?” The answers are never what I expect—and that’s the best part. 📌 Then, students reflect. They complete a few simple but thoughtful prompts about their own behavior, their emotions, and what they’ve learned. 📌 Next, we share (if they want to). I never make sharing mandatory. But I’m always surprised by how many students want to. 📌 Finally, we put up the poster. It’s a small reminder that kindness and responsibility go beyond the classroom. 🐶 One more idea: If you have a therapy dog visit your class, have students read their reflections to the dog. You’d be amazed at how much more open and engaged they become! What Other Teachers Have Said ✔ “I used this before our first therapy dog visit, and it made a huge difference in how students behaved around the dog.” ✔ “It’s simple but powerful. The class discussions that came from this were amazing.” ✔ “Perfect for social-emotional learning, even without a therapy dog!” Why This Activity Sticks with Students At the end of the day, this isn’t just another worksheet. It’s a way to help students slow down, think about their actions, and reflect on what really matters—whether that’s how they interact with a therapy dog, a classmate, or the world around them. 📥 Give it a try—you might be surprised by what your students come up with. 🐶✨ 📍 Warmly, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? I teach with a certified therapy dog, and together we create a positive and inspiring learning environment. 🐶✨
