Practice reading words with the prefix SUB- with these sentence reading rings. Students will read words with the prefix sub- in the context of sentences. Each card also includes a bold and colorful image to illustrate each sentence and to help students to learn the meanings of each word. What is Included: This resource includes one reading ring activity for the prefix sub. There are cards each featuring a different word with the prefix sub, with a sentence using the word in context and an image to illustrate that sentence. When to Use Early Finishers - If students finish their work early, they can use these reading rings for extra practice. Small Group Work - Teachers can use these reading rings to target small groups of students who need more practice reading words with prefixes. Independent Practice - Students can work independently at their desks to read this set of prefix cards. Morning Work - Students can read and review this reading ring for morning work as their classmates arrive to class. How to Make: Teachers will print out the pages and cut each card apart. Once cut apart, the teacher can choose to laminate the cards for durability. Then, use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top left corner of the card. Place the cards on a ring to create your reading ring, making sure the cover card is on top. This is a writing sentences activity where students find the mistakes in the sentences given. This resource includes a Proofreading Marks Reference Sheet. You could easily make copies and give one to each student. Not only is it helpful for this assignment, but they can use it all year long. There are 10 sentences written with spelling and grammar errors. I allow my students to use red pen to show their editing marks. They could do this on the sentences provided. They then will rewrite the each correctly. It could be completed whole group as a mini lesson. Or, it could be used as an extension to something you already do. It could be extra practice, or it could even be a quick assessment . Do you want your students to finding errors in sentences? Then this product will help. This activity could be introduced in 2nd grade, and it could be extra practice in grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Correcting sentences is an important skill for students to know. Giving them practice with sentences will help them become better at it.
