The Future Perfect Continuous Tense

The Future Perfect Continuous Tense
ELA, Grammar, Not Grade Specific, Worksheets & Printables

We use the future perfect continuous tense when we're looking back to the past from a point in the future, and it describes actions that will continue up until a point in the future. It is usually necessary to mention the point of time and the length of time. Remember that the Future Perfect tense is used to express an action that is not done yet but will be done by a certain point in the future. On the other hand, in the Future Perfect Continuous, the future perfect activity will be in progress for a duration of time. By using the continuous tense, we emphasize the duration of an activity that happened in a progressive (rather than sudden) way. Therefore, we can only use verbs that express activities taking place over time. For example: working, living, studying, sleeping, thinking, hoping, traveling, saving, etc. This useful guide will detail the formation and utilization of the Future Perfect Continuous tense, with numerous examples and practice activities included. You can also locate the answer key at the back of the book.
