Four Corners SEL Activity + 2 Emotions Crosswords
Special Resources, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, Crosswords Puzzles, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
In this SEL game and "get to know you game" students get to choose their preferences based on this four corners game. In the SEL presentation, there is a description of corner 1,2,3,4 so kids don't get confused. There is a screen that shows a picture of a typical classroom with each corner labeled. There is a side that is labeled "Front" so students know where the front of the classroom is. The questions are preference questions like "What is your favorite food?" "What is your favorite thing to learn in school?" "What is your favorite thing to do at recess?" and many more. There are 24 questions slides and a "warm up" slide. One student stands in the middle with their eyes closed and after students scurry to a corner based on their preferences, the student in the middle points to a corner and that group has to sit down. The rest of the students move on the the next round and the student in the middle joins the group. Then someone else is chosen to be in the middle. There are also 2 crosswords related to emotions and feelings. I would highly recommend word banks for these as some of the emotions may be too subjective for the younger students to know. If you enjoy this product and other sel products, please visit my SEL store here: https://teachsimple.com/contributor/jennifer-moyer-taylor Here are some other products you may enjoy: https://teachsimple.com/product/icebreaker-back-to-school-battle-brackets (These are icebreaker battle brackets! There are 4 topics and one blank one that you can customize. The 4 topics are; snacks, sports, summer activities and music genres. This is a great back to school activity or an activity for a new trimester with new students. Students battle to see which snack "wins" or which "sport" wins. This gets the kids sharing about their own interests and learning about the interest of other students in their class.
