TinkerCAD step-by-step instructions for 3 different whistles

TinkerCAD step-by-step instructions for 3 different whistles
Creative Arts, Art, Grade 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Activities, Projects

TinkerCAD step-by-step instructions for 3 different whistles. Students only need to know the bare basics to complete this. I tested this with a fifth-grade class and most could complete it with no help. Designed to print with no supports for easy printing. PDF file with TinkerCAD step-by-step instructions for 3 different whistles with 32 pages. I have used this instructions with students as young as 5th grade and as high as 12th grade. The 5th graders needed some help and guidance but middle schoolers and high school students usually did not need any help at all. 5th and 6th grade classes took about 2 hours to finish the project. Middle schoolers took about 1 hour, and high school students took about 30-40 minutes to finish. The referee whistle works like a regular whistle. The slide whistle works and make different sounds be sliding the insert back and forth to make different pitches. The train whistle works by having different lengths of hollowed out tubes which generate different pitches. Very detailed instructions. Students are expected to be familiar with TinkerCAD, and know the basics. There is a TinkerCAD tool guide within the instructions to aid in learning TinkerCAD. The Tragedy of the Commons Simulation

The Tragedy of the Commons Simulation
Social Studies, History, Psychology, Grade 8, 9, 10, 11, Activities, Projects

The Tragedy of the Commons Teacher Guide Thank you so much for purchasing this simulation! I think you will find the game to be engaging and an excellent starting point to discuss competition and cooperation, the tragedy of the commons, and the human default toward greed. The class slides cover the various steps of the simulation well. Essentially, the game demonstrates how our competitive nature can ultimately be detrimental to everyone in some circumstances. If students work together, it is possible to earn 480 slips of paper. More commonly, the leading student only nets 40 or 50 slips of paper. When choosing volunteers it sometimes works well to choose volunteers who are naturally competitive to highlight this main takeaway. To prepare, you will possibly want to print up to 480 slips of paper (in the folder). Typically, I only print about 200 because I’ve never had students that actually collaborate to the full extent. To stoke competition you can also let students “buy” things with their slips of paper, such as a homework pass, a candy bar, or 5 minutes of talk time for the class, etc. This can accelerate the competition. Enjoy, and email with any questions about carrying the simulation out! The Imitation Game (2014): Complete Movie Guide
Social Studies, ELA, History, History: World, Grade 8, 9, 10, 11, Games, Activities

The Imitation Game is a 2014 historical drama film directed by Morten Tyldum and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, and Matthew Goode. The film is based on the real-life story of Alan Turing, a brilliant mathematician and cryptanalyst who played a crucial role in cracking the German Enigma code during World War II. The movie is divided into three different time periods, each with its own narrative thread. The first follows Turing's early years as a socially awkward and highly intelligent young man who struggles to fit in with his peers. The second thread focuses on Turing's work during World War II, where he is recruited by the British government to help break the Nazi's secret Enigma code, which they used to encrypt all of their military communications. Turing's team is made up of a diverse group of codebreakers, including Joan Clarke, a brilliant mathematician who becomes Turing's closest friend and confidante. Despite initial setbacks and bureaucratic interference, Turing and his team eventually succeed in cracking the Enigma code, providing the Allies with vital intelligence that helps them win the war. The third and final thread of the film takes place in 1952, several years after the war has ended, when Turing is arrested and charged with homosexuality, which was then a crime in Britain. Despite his contributions to the war effort, Turing is persecuted and forced to undergo chemical castration as punishment. The film ends tragically, with Turing ultimately taking his own life. Overall, The Imitation Game is a gripping and moving tribute to one of the 20th century's most brilliant minds, whose achievements were overshadowed by his persecution and tragic end. This movie guide comes with a character reference guide, 22-questions, and a short introduction into the movie. This product also includes a completed teacher key. Ready to use!! "The Declaration of Independence" - A Play and Activity
Social Studies, History, History: USA, Grade 9, 10, 11, Activities

Are you teaching about the Declaration of Independence in your classroom? Here is an activity to help bring it alive to your students. This play will take about 20-25 minutes depending on how you present or use it in your classroom. It is a great lesson enhancer! Students love to be moving around and engaged in class activities. This is perfect for that because all students may be involved if you choose! Have fun debriefing the play after you finish it with your students. They will have some good questions! I've also included a Declaration of Independence (DOI) activity . This activity "breaks down" the DOI - the five sections (The Preamble - Reasons for the Separation, the Rights of the People, the Tyrannical Acts of the King or List of Grievances, the Attempts at Reconciliation, and the declaration of being free and independent states!) The activity can take around 20-25 minutes, as well. Both of these activities will help you bring the Declaration of Independence alive in your classroom! Enjoy and if you have the time, please let me know how it worked for you!
