These sports themed number cards are perfect for students who are learning with a sports theme. They make the perfect tool for students to learn the letters of the number. What is Included: This set includes one number card and one number word card for all numbers up to 20. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by matching the numbers to their number words. Attach a paper clip to a number card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the numbers for a fun fishing game. Use a sand or salt tray for students to practice writing the numbers or number words on each card. Have students find the numbers that you have hidden around the room for a fun number hunt. Place the number cards in numerical order. Create a pocket char game where you place the cards on a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the numbers. The students will guess which number the hidden picture is behind. Add objects so students can count to the number on the card. When to Use: Math Center - Place the cards in a math center for students to match independently or with a partner. Morning Tubs or Baskets - Place the cards in a morning bin for students to work on while their classmates arrive to class. Small Group Activities - The teacher can pull aside a small group of students who need extra practice identifying numbers and number words. These sports number cards are a great activity for students to practice number recognition. They are a low prep activity for teachers to prepare for students. Simply print, cut apart and laminate for durability. These cards can be stored in a task box for easy set up, clean up, and storage. This is an activity I created in order to check for understanding about traditions at the end of a language arts unit. It was also great for a quick check of writing skills. You’ll see there are two rubric options just in case you like to assess more concepts at a time. I used this with the second and third graders in my split class and I felt it met the standards and skill levels of both grades. What is Included: There is an instructional page with printing instructions. There are letter E posters with various letter E words. There are handwriting task cards that allow students to practice writing the letter E as well as words that begin with the letter E. There are beginning sound clip cards that allow students to practice clipping the images that begin with the letter E. There is a sorting activity where you sort pictures that begins with E from words that do not begin with E. The letter E sorting cards that can also be used to play memory, matching, or concentration games. These cards can also be used during a lesson in a pocket chart as well as for a center display. Introduction: This resource comes with 15 activities to do with your students to practice number sense. It is perfect for independent seat work or math centers. Objective: The objective of these resources is to increase student's number sense through activities and games. Grade Level: This resource would appropriate for students in grade K-2 or students requiring math intervention for number sense skills. How to Use the Activities: 1.) Just print and go! 2.) I like to print mine double sided so if students finish early they can complete an additional activity on the back. How to Use the Math Center Games: >Materials Needed: - dice - the number cards 1-120 printed and laminated 1.) Boxed Out: - students can play in small groups, with partners, or independently - students take turns picking the laminated number cards out of a cup and cross out the number they picked on the 120 chart. 2.) Count on by 1's - students can play in small groups, with partners, or independently - students take turns picking the laminated number cards out of a cup and writing the number inside the star. - students then write the next numbers in the sequence counting by 1's 3.) Pop back by 1's - students can play in small groups, with partners, or independently - students take turns picking the laminated number cards out of a cup and writing the number inside the popcorn. - students then write the next numbers in the sequence counting back by 1's 4.)
