◈ Deep Work by Cal Newport- Visual Mind Map (+Template) ◈ In "Deep Work," Cal Newport argues that in today's distracted world, the ability to focus deeply on complex tasks is becoming increasingly rare, but also more valuable than ever. Newport defines "deep work" as the ability to focus without distraction on a cognitively demanding task, and argues that this skill is essential for achieving success in today's knowledge-based economy. He provides practical strategies for developing this skill, including setting aside dedicated time for deep work, minimizing distractions, and cultivating a sense of purpose in one's work. Newport also challenges the notion that constant connectivity and multitasking are necessary for success, and argues that the ability to focus deeply on important tasks is a more effective approach. Overall, "Deep Work" is a thought-provoking and practical guide for anyone looking to improve their focus and productivity in a distracted world. ◈ A Visual Mind Map flows just like our brain does and they are NOT in Nice Neat Lines! ◈ Managing to Learn by John Shook- Visual Mind Map (+Template) ◈ "Managing to Learn" by John Shook is a groundbreaking book that offers a new approach to management and problem-solving. Shook draws on his experience as a Toyota manager and Lean manufacturing expert, and presents a case study of a manager who learns to solve a complex business problem using the A3 problem-solving process. The A3 process, which is central to Lean management, is a structured approach to problem-solving that involves identifying the problem, analyzing the root cause, and implementing solutions. Shook illustrates how this process can be applied to any problem, not just manufacturing, and how it can help managers develop critical thinking skills and improve organizational performance. The book is structured as a dialogue between the manager and his mentor, and provides readers with a unique and engaging perspective on how to manage and solve complex problems. Overall, "Managing to Learn" is a must-read for managers and leaders who want to improve their problem-solving skills and create a culture of continuous improvement in their organizations. ◈ A Visual Mind Map flows just like our brain does and they are NOT in Nice Neat Lines!
