3D Shapes Flash Cards (Anchor Charts) & Posters with Real-Life Examples for Preschool, Montessori, and Kindergarten I made these 3D shape cards visuals with young children in my mind. Many kids can name flat shapes, but it takes more time to understand the concept of 3D Shapes. In this resource, I have also included the visuals of real life examples to make the students understand the concept of solid shapes easily. This set includes flash cards that show common 3D shapes along with objects children realize they already know. Seeing the shapes connected to real things helps the idea click much faster. You may use these cards during circle time, small groups, and math centers. These cards can be used in different ways. Some teachers like to display them as posters or anchor charts, while others may use them as flash cards or sorting cards. I have included both the color as well as the black and white version of this resource, so you can print what works best for you. The shapes included inside are cone, cube, cuboid (rectangular prism), sphere, cylinder, and pyramid. What's inside? 3D shape cards in color and grayscale versions Real-life examples Simple and clear pictures that are easy for young children to understand A layout that works for group lessons, centers, or individual practice This resource is suitable for: Preschool and kindergarten students learning about 3D shapes Montessori-style environments Homeschool families ESL learners who benefit from visual materials Teachers looking for simple math center activities Learning 3D shapes can feel confusing for young children, especially when the shapes feel abstract. These cards slow things down and give students something concrete to look at and talk about. When kids can point out objects they recognize, the lesson feels easier and more fun. You can use the same cards in different ways - as quick reviews, sorting games, matching activities, or just hanging them up as a reminder during the unit. Resource features: Low prep and easy to use Flexible for whole group, small group, or independent work Useful for sorting, matching, and discussion It can be reused year after year It builds basic 3D shape recognition It helps children connect shapes to real objects It supports visual and hands-on learning It helps concepts stick over time This resource is useful for preschool and kindergarten math , early geometry practice, hands-on learning, and homeschool use.

Financial Literacy: Mean, Median & Interquartile Range of Hourly Wages

Financial Literacy: Mean, Median & Interquartile Range of Hourly Wages
Life Studies, Finance, Career, Math, Graphing, Statistics, Grade 5, 6, 7, 8, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets

Here's a great application of 6th grade math statistics skills: mean, median, and interquartile range. Students will apply their knowledge of these calculations to real-life data: the hourly wages of 10 common careers. From a cashier to a taxi driver to an account to a CEO, students are given 10 realistic hourly wages. First, they create a histogram to display the data. They should notice that most of the wages cluster together at the bottom end of the distribution, and one wage, the CEO, is far at the other end. Next, they write the wages in order from smallest to largest. They use this information to calculate the mean, the median, and the interquartile range. They decide which piece of data best represents this data set. After that, they eliminate the outlier (the CEO wage) and recalculate the same statistics. They can decide if a different piece of data now represents the set better. Finally, they can reflect on what they have learned about statistics and hourly wages. A complete answer key is also included. Grades to Use With: This math application is designed to target 6th grade statistics learning outcomes, but this lesson could also be used in other middle grades classrooms to review these math skills or to start a discussion about income inequality and economic fairness.
