Need a game for practicing multiplication facts fluency for the 6 times table with your kiddos that will be fun and engaging? This underwater themed math board game is perfect for getting your students focused on multiplication facts for 6! Preparation: Game instructions and playing pieces Print the How to Play page. You have three printing options. - Colour – for if you printed either of the colour game boards - BW 1 – for if you printed the BW 1 game board - BW 2 – for if you printed the BW 2 game board Cut out and laminate the fish at the top of the page to use as playing pieces. If you are using the BW printed fish, you would need to colour them before laminating. Alternatively, you can simply use counters or buttons. Cut out and laminate the “How to Play” instructions for students to refer to when they play the game. Game Board Print and laminate the game board. This is a 3rd Grade Math Review Game. The possibilities for use of these cards are endless! Rather than give instructions for a single game to play, I thought it would benefit you more if I gave you ideas for how you might use them in your own classroom. We all know that no two classrooms are created equal and I want you to feel the FREEDOM that comes with this set of cards… Brainstorm #1: This is How I use these cards The whole-class format. For one week (usually 4 days) I choose 20 questions per day. I number them and hang them around the room. Each student gets a work mat (included in this pack) on which to solve problems and write answers. Students are allowed 2 minutes at each station (maybe 3 depending on the questions). When all students have reached every station, we go through the problems as a class, discuss possible misunderstandings, and they keep a tally of how many they got correct (for their eyes only). At the end of the week, the students tally up how many questions they got correct so they can bask in their awesomeness. I take the tallies so I can see how they’ve done and reteach what I feel needs some extra attention before the end of school. Brainstorm #2 The classic “Jeopardy” format. Put these cards in an array on the board, separate the kids into groups, each group gets a question, one point for a correct answer… Brainstorm #3 The partner quiz format. Put kids in partners, give them each a stack of cards, they ask each other one question at a time. Whoever gets more answers correct is the winner. Brainstorm #4 Use throughout the year format. Use the cards as a review at the end of each domain. They’re color-coded based on the domain, making it easy to fish out what you need at any given time of the year! Brainstorm #5 Quick thinking problems. Use as students are coming in, as tickets out the door, or during self starters or morning work. Just choose a problem and post it on the board. The word problems are particularly nice for self starters. Brainstorm #6 Make lots of copies in all your spare time (just a little joke, there), laminate them, and put them on key-rings for early finishers to use for practice.

3rd Grade Color by Code Math Worksheet - Place Value

Reviewing 3rd grade math standards is a must to help your students succeed. There are so many new concepts they have to learn throughout the year, but we really don't want them to forget what they've already learned. A fun way to get students practicing key concepts is to have math color pages. This math color by code has students look at numbers to determine which place a digit is in. It looks at ones, tens, and hundreds. While students should come to 3rd grade knowing this skill, I find it's helpful to have review. They color in the space based on the digit's place value. You may need to do a problem on the page with them, to make sure students understand how to complete it. When I do this with my students they always have to show their answer, and not just the color. I have students complete the problems in pencil and color around. Or, they can trace with a sharpie and color over that. If they only have the color, you won't know if they truly understand the skill. I have several of these worksheets , and I like to put them together in a quilt book to show math review throughout the school year.

Practice reading words with the prefix ANTI- with these sentence reading rings. Students will read words with the prefix anti- in the context of sentences. Each card also includes a bold and colorful image to illustrate each sentence and to help students to learn the meanings of each word. What is Included: This resource includes one reading ring for the prefix anti. There are seven cards each featuring a different word with the prefix anti. The words included in this set are: antisocial, antibacterial, antibiotics, antibodies, antifreeze, anticlimactic, and antivenom. When to Use Early Finishers - If students finish their work early, they can use these reading rings for extra practice. Small Group Work - Teachers can use these reading rings to target small groups of students who need more practice reading words with prefixes. Need a fun, engaging activity for practicing number bonds to 10 with your kiddos? This math bingo game is perfect for getting your students focused on number bonds for numbers 1-10! Preparation: Print and laminate enough Bingo Boards for each student to have one Optional: print, cut and laminate the Playing Squares Print, cut and laminate the Calling Cards. Lamination is optional, but recommended, as it will ensure that the game remains in good condition and can be used for many years to come! To avoid excessive printing and laminating, the Playing Squares could be replaced with other manipulatives such as buttons or counters. Alternatively, students could mark squares off on their Bingo Boards with dry erase markers and then simply clean the boards again after playing (provided that you have laminated the boards) How to Play: Each student needs a Bingo Board and at least 7 Playing Squares (or other manipulatives or a dry erase marker) Shuffle the Calling Cards and place them in a pile. Draw a Calling Card and call out and/or display the contents of the card. Each student looks on their Bingo Board for a block that matches the Calling Card. If they find one, they cover that block with a Playing Square. Draw a new Calling Card and repeat the process. The game continues until somebody wins. To win, a student must shout out “BINGO!” when they have covered three blocks in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). If the Calling Cards run out before anybody wins, simply shuffle them again and continue playing. Please note: Sometimes there may be more than one block on the Bingo Board that matches the Calling Card. The student may only cover one block on a turn.
