Overview of This Activity: This printable game is designed to encourage children to use their creativity and apply S.T.E.M. skills! During the game , players collect different Lego elements (pieces). At the end of the game , players create anything they can imagine with the pieces they collected during the game . Then, they can informally practice presentation skills as they tell each other about their creation. How to Play: Place a box or pile of Lego elements (different pieces) where all players can reach them. Gather a die and this game board. Each player should choose 1 mini-figure or Lego element to be their game piece Note: Players can use their piece in their creative build at the end of the game if they would like to! Directions: Players take turns rolling one die on their turn. They move the number of spaces represented on the die and follow instructions on the game square they land on. Based on where they land, they will either choose a set number of elements from the pile, return a set number of elements from their collection to the pile, or move backward a certain number of spaces. The game ends when one person reaches the finish. At that point, all players build creatively with the pieces they have collected during the game . Then, they share what they have built. In this product, you will combine graphing and SEL. This is the perfect back-to-school or get-to-know-you activity in any class-not just math! Students will receive a graphing page and a page with questions. Each question has a coordinate after it that the students plot on the graph. When the student is done plotting all the coordinates, they will draw a line to each coordinate and create a very unique shape. Some of the statements are; I like tacos, I have a pet, I have a sibling, I play a sport, I like sushi, I prefer outside to inside, I am an optimist, I like board games , my name has more than 5 letters, I have traveled outside the country, I speak more than one language, and I love gardening-among more. There are 20 statements. If a statement is not true for the student, they simply cross it off or skip to the next statement. This is a great resource for having students share and get to know each other, you will also get to know your students quite well from this activity. This would also be a great advisory activity at the beginning of the year. Another idea is to post these on a bulletin board afterward and admire the different unique shapes of your students. Students can also create an image from their shape if they wish-such as an animal, person, object, etc. One of the objectives of this resource is to allow students to reflect on their likes and dislikes and personality. The other objectives are for students to share commonalities and embrace differences. Lastly, you as the teacher will really get to know your students. This is fully editable so feel free to change the questions to your liking. You know your students best! You do not need to be a math teacher to use this resource! It's great for school counselors, specialists and advisory teachers as well.

The businesses include: Food/Restaurants: Downtown Diner Bake Me Happy The Farmer's Market Clothing Stores: Sew What Cozy Clothing Beautiful Boutique Recreation Stores: Spikes Bikes Outdoor Store Misc. Stores: The General Store Best Pets Once Upon A Time Bookstore Depending on class size, one student should be responsible for each business . Each student will have different roles. Some students will be business owners, some students will be consumers and one or more students will be headquarters. This activity is a fun, hands-on activity to teach about opportunity costs, goods, services, consumers, producers, etc. This is a great activity for grades 3rd through 7th grade. The activity includes a detailed procedure and sample room set-ups to make the planning and implementing process easier. The labels for the businesses are fun and colorful. Students could also design their own business signs.
