Practice College Admission Essays | College Prep | Writing Abstractly

Need an easy way to introduce the type of writing students will need to understand while applying for college? Colleges are looking for students who can think deeply, meaningfully, and uniquely. It can be challenging to figure out how to write abstractly. This product provides some great resources for learning about what colleges are looking for and how to meet those expectations. (I created this unit with my father’s help who was a professor at a University and sat on many admissions committees). Practice writing in deeper, more meaningful ways with these templates and prompts.

How To Use This:

You can either just print the prompts and hand them out OR use the many, many resources included here to create a whole unit, lesson, or class preparing students for college essays. Read the informational articles together, post the anchor charts and discuss these important words, and then get to work trying out some more analytical and abstract writing prompts.
