Practice reading words with the suffix -Y with these sentence reading rings. Students will read words with the suffixes -y in the context of sentences. Each card also includes a bold and colorful image to illustrate each sentence and to help students to learn the meanings of each word. What is Included: This resource includes one reading ring activity for the suffix y. There are cards each featuring a different word with the suffix y, with a sentence using the word in context and an image to illustrate that sentence. When to Use Early Finishers - If students finish their work early, they can use these reading rings for extra practice. Small Group Work - Teachers can use these reading rings to target small groups of students who need more practice reading words with suffixes. Independent Practice - Students can work independently at their desks to read this set of suffix cards. Morning Work - Students can read and review this reading ring for morning work as their classmates arrive to class. How to Make: Teachers will print out the pages and cut each card apart. Once cut apart, the teacher can choose to laminate the cards for durability. Then, use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top left corner of the card. Here are some reasons why it is important for educators to teach errorless learning to young early learning students: -Promotes success -Reduces frustration -Increases independence -Builds a strong foundation for future learning ERRORLESS ACTIVITY This is a great starter activity for the learner who is being introduced to the concept of grouping/sorting. Sorting is an early math skill and is a building block for future math learning. This activity is errorless which means there are no wrong answers and with success there will be lots of praise and reinforcement for a job well done! Errorless teaching is a great way to build excitement for a new skill. Sort identical cars by color This downloadable PDF is an educational activity that involves sorting identical cars by color. Here's an example of how you might carry out the activity sorting identical cars by color: -Gather materials: You will start with two large car color sorting cards Ex. one blue and one red and twelve smaller cards six identical red and six identical blue cars on them. -Introduce the activity : Show the learners the two large car color cards and explain that you will be sorting the smaller cards by color of the car. -Demonstrate the sorting process: Often times when I am introducing a new activity I will begin by sorting one or two of the cards myself, explaining what I am doing along the way. For example, "This card has a blue car on it, so it goes with the blue card." or "This card has a red car on it, so it goes with the red card. -reinforce learning: Once all of the learners have sorted their cards, review the activity as a group. Reinforce! By using hands-on activities like this, learners can develop their sorting skills while also improving their language, fine motor, and visual discrimination abilities. This is a grouping/sorting book where the learner will sort identical cars by color. The design is clean and simple with limited visual distraction so the learner can focus on just task. Topics are varied and are accompanied by colorful graphics. Topics are meant to educate, yet entertain the modern student. These passages are perfect for the modern classroom. Whereas textbooks can become outdated in no time, any changes to technology or the world will result in updates to this product. Mixed Questions The mixed questions section of each lesson includes a variation of fivecomprehension, vocabulary and math questions. In addition, key reading strategies are frequently covered including cause & effect, summarizing, compare & contrast and making conclusions. Three of the questions will be MCQs and two will require a written response of some kind. Full answers and example responses appear at the end of the lesson. Spelling & Vocab Each reading passage contains a variety of words and phrases designed for Grade 2-3 students. Spelling and vocab activities provide the opportunity to build fluency with these words. As it can become quite mundane doing the same activities over and over, each lesson in a set will contain a different spelling and vocab activity . Writing Prompts Writing prompts are designed to continue the theme or lessons learned in the story. Students are persuaded to write in a variety of ways and each prompt includes several cues to help. As with the spelling/vocab section, writing prompts will vary. This includes research pieces, reading responses, poetry and creative writing prompts. Full Answer Keys Full answer keys and sample responses are provided so no matter how busy you are, you know you're covered! Mixed question answers provide evidence from the text, math questions contain the relevant workings. Answers are designed for use by the teacher, but also suitable as a handout to the student. Finger puppets: The Mayas - Bringing the past to life - People in history This material provides you with templates for making finger puppets on the subject of the Mayas. The finger puppets are a varied and interactive addition to the topic of people in history. They help pupils to discover and understand historical content in a creative and playful way. The finger puppets are suitable for science and history lessons in grades 3, grades 4, grades 5 and grades 6. The finger puppet templates are available in two versions: one in color and one in black and white. The students can design the black and white templates themselves, for example. With the colored templates , you can quickly create a finger puppet set that you can give to the students to play with. To store it in the binder, the students can make a bag. For the finger puppet show, I have also added suitable backdrops. Uses The finger puppets can be used in various ways in the classroom to internalize what they have learned and deepen their understanding or promote their creativity. For example: Role plays: The students act out scenes from the respective historical context. Dialogues: The students create dialogues between different characters of the respective era with the finger puppets. Inventing stories: The students develop their own stories with the finger puppets and develop the factual topics as a background. Presentations: The students prepare presentations about the respective epoch, using the finger puppets as a visual aid. Group work: Students can work in groups and create scenes or stories together with the finger puppets. This promotes collaboration and social learning. This hamburgers reading comprehension contains the following: Pre-Reading Trivia Students will write down one thing they already know about the subject and then read five more facts and discuss. These facts are fun, and the students will enjoy learning about the subject before reading more.
