This beginning sound sort for the letter R is a great hands on activity for recognizing the most common sound of the letter R. This is an easy and fun activity to give students who need practice with recognizing the letter R sound from amongst other letter sounds or for those students who need extra practice distinguishing between the initial sounds in words. To complete this sorting activity , students will look at a picture on a rain drop to determine if the picture begins with the letter R or does not begin with the letter R, and then the students will place the rain drop on the correct cloud mat. Ifyou want to provide your students with some engaging practice with solving addition problems, this Addition Velcro Matching Activity is a great fit. There are 12 single-digit addition problems included. They are printed 6 per page. Each addition problem is printed on a dog bone with a puppy dog hovering over them. The addition problems included are: 1 + 2 4 + 3 2 + 3 1 + 3 2 + 2 5 + 1 5 + 5 2 + 6 2 + 8 4 + 4 6 + 4 7 + 2 The dog bones with the answers are printed on a separate page. You will print everything out, laminate it, and then cut out the answer dog bones. You can store the answer dog bones in a storage pouch and staple it to the puppy addition boards. Velcro dots can be applied to the addition problem bones and the answer bones. Students will solve the problems and match them to the correct puppy dog. This is great for early finishers. Whenever students have finished an assignment and are waiting on other students to finish, they can work on this addition matching activity . This also makes a great partner activity since there are 2 separate addition problem boards. Each partner can get their own addition board and they can spread out the answer dog bones between themselves. This gives students the opportunity to discuss their addition problems and help each other solve along the way.
