These 4 differentiated Social Scenario activities will help children who struggle to understand the importance of considering other's perspectives. With these activities, children will practice perspective taking using a wide variety of social scenarios which will help them to be more thoughtful and make better decisions in real life social situations. This activity leads to great discussions and really encourages children to think about others in a wide variety of social situations. Great to use in social groups, friendship groups and lunch bunches. Can be used as a whole class lesson too. I created these activities because my students were struggling to understand a variety of everyday social situations and how to handle them. The practice and discussion is very helpful for them. In this activity, students practice the skill of comparing characters from the novel Charlotte's Web, by E.B. White. Graphic organizers can be a great way to help students organize their thoughts. The graphic organizer I chose for this activity is a Venn Diagram . Venn Diagrams are perfect for comparing and contrasting two things. There are several characters in Charlotte's Web that work well for this activity. I've created four worksheets where students will be comparing Charlotte and Wilbur, Charlotte and Fern, Wilbur and Templeton, and Templeton and Avery. This activity works well with second through fourth graders who have read the story. You could hand out the graphic organizers at the beginning of reading have students add to them as you read through the book. Or, you could wait until you've finished reading. Depending on the level of your students, you could have them list words to describe the characters on a sheet of paper. They could then use that when filling out these diagrams. A great extension to this activity would be if you want students to write a paragraph comparing the two characters. The graphic organizer would help them organize their thoughts into a good paragraph.

If you want to give students extra practice with place value, I have just the resource for you. What You Get: This is a set of Place Value Loop Cards that was designed for 4th and 5th grade students who are working on or have mastered place value with higher digit numbers. It may be a great fit for 3rd grade students. It also works well as a review for students. It is a 1-page printable. How To Implement This Resource: This is a game that is meant to be played as a whole group. Whenever you are able to carve out some time during your math instruction, students will love getting a chance to play this game. The game will flow much smoother for a group of students who have a good understanding of place value. These Loop Cards mimic the game I Have, Who Has? You will print off the entire page and should laminate it for durability. Cut out each of the cards. There are 24 cards included. All cards have to be used for the game to work. If you have a classroom of 24 students, there will be an even distribution. If you have less than 24 students, you can take the extra cards and join in on the game or you can give more than 1 card to your students who have fully mastered this skill. Whoever has the START card will begin the game. Students will continue with the cards by saying the number they have and asking the question on their card to find the next number. This game will continue until they have reached the person with the END card. You can store cards in a small plastic baggie or hole punch them and place them on a binder ring. I hope you enjoy!
