Get those creative juices flowing with these UM words flower craftivity. Students will practice reading and identifying UM words while creating a fun spring flower. What is Included: There is 1 flower template for reading UM family words There is 1 flower template for identifying and matching UM words and pictures. This resource contains two CVC words flower template. When finished, each flower will have 6 different petals with words and pictures. They can be used to introduce or review CVC words, especially words with the UM spelling. With easy to identify images, students will not have difficulty knowing which picture matches which word. There are two ways to use this product: One way to use this resource is to simply print, and allow students to color, cut out and glue the flower onto colored paper. Another way to use this resource is to print the flower onto colored card stock paper. The teacher then can cut and laminate the pieces. This letter K beginning sounds and handwriting activity includes real photographs to practice learning to recognize, write and identify the sound of the letter K. Each picture has bold colors and includes easily recognized pictures. Each activity can be used in a literacy center for students to practice letter recognition. What is Included: There is an instructional page with printing instructions. There are letter K posters with various letter K words. There are handwriting task cards that allow students to practice writing the letter K as well as words that begin with the letter K. There are beginning sound clip cards that allow students to practice clipping the images that begin with the letter K. There is a sorting activity where you sort pictures that begins with K from words that do not begin with K. The letter K sorting cards that can also be used to play memory, matching, or concentration games. These cards can also be used during a lesson in a pocket chart as well as for a center display. When to Use: All of the activities make great literacy centers, by placing each set of activities in the center and letting students complete activities alone or with a partner. Fast Fact Squares: A strategic game of math facts! Be the player with the most squares at the end of the game by adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing. This game is great for a variety of ages, whether they are just learning their addition facts (adding 1 through 6), are practicing all of their addition, subtraction, multiplication and/or division facts, for those who know all of their facts but are practicing their fluency...or for those who just like strategy games! This game is great to incorporate into your math lesson or throughout the day as a fast finisher activity. Students and teachers alike will also love it as an indoor recess game. Students may not even realize they are practicing their facts or how much strategy is really involved! Materials Needed: •Game Board •2 dice •Pen or pencil Object of the Game: •To be the player with the most colored squares How to Play: Decide which player goes first by rolling the dice. The person with the highest roll goes first First player rolls both dice. They may either add, subtract, multiply or divide the dice. Player finds their answer on the game board and draws ONE line by connecting any two dots that surround that number. Next player’s turn Play continues back and forth When a player connects two dots that closes off a square, they color in the square and earn a point. This player gets to roll again! Once game board has all squares colored in, player with the most points wins! Examples •Player rolls a ”6” and a “2” •Connect dots that surround a “4” (6 – 2 = 4) •Connect dots that surround a ”12” (6 x 2 = 12) •Connect dots that surround a “3” (6 ➗ 2 = 3) •Connect dots that surround an “8” (6 + 2 = 8) Challenge •Another option for keeping score is that each player earns the points that they square off. •For example, if a player squares off a “12” square, that player earns 12 points. •This adds in more strategy for squaring off higher numbers as well as additional practice for adding! With these sight word foldable book, students will practice sight word recognition. Students will use these books to find, write, and read the target sight word! This resource contains foldable books for the sight word: can The pages included in this product are: There are 2 sight word activity foldable books. Both books have a cover page to color, a seek and find activity where students color or dab the sight word, and an area where students will trace the sight word. One book has a page where students will simply read sentences containing the sight word, while the other contains sentences for students to first write the sight word, then read the sentences. There are 2 sight word emergent readers. One reader has students simply color an image and read the sentence containing the target sight word. The second reader contains the same sentences with the sight word missing. Students will write the sight word, then read the sentences on these books. How to Make: Students can either fold the books first or complete the activities before folding the book. The order is not important. To create the books, students will first fold the book along the horizontal line, then they will fold along the vertical line. The Defeat of the Spanish Armada (1588), an engaging skit!

I enjoy actively involving my students in the classroom, and what better way to achieve this than by reenacting history? This skit brings the dramatic events of the summer of 1588 to life, emphasizing the significance of England’s victory over the Spanish Armada in the English Channel. There are plenty of roles available for students, including options for those who may be hesitant to participate. Less enthusiastic performers can portray English sailors or soldiers who cheer on Queen Elizabeth. For added fun, they can toss “paper balls” at one another, representing Spanish troops, during the Battle of Gravelines scene. This keeps the experience both engaging and educational. The skit also includes a portion of Queen Elizabeth I’s famous speech delivered at the height of the battle. Most importantly, it concludes with a review of why this moment was pivotal: Spain’s dominance began to fade while England rose in power. Additionally, Spain would no longer be able to prevent English colonization efforts in North America, with Jamestown being founded within two decades. I use this skit to enrich my lesson on "The English Come to North America," helping students connect with the historical roots of England’s presence in the New World. Lasting about 10–15 minutes, it’s a lively and effective addition to the curriculum.
