TR Beginning Blends Worksheets A beginning blends worksheet to help teach 'TR', such as trip, trap and trunk etc... Beginning blends are often tricky to learn, especially for children with a processing difficulty, such as dyslexia. By targeting the individual blends, children can be helped over this stage of phonic learning, so crucial for further success in reading and spelling. What is included in the pack? One PDF sheet for the TR initial blend. What does the worksheet involve? Pupils are instructed to combine the two letters on the worksheet and then complete words by adding the letters 'tr'. They then read the words they have made and write them under the pictures. They are then given six more words to make by writing 'tr' in the spaces. Once read, the child must look for the words in the grid. Children can easily work on the sheet unaided once they have been instructed, although it is strongly suggested that an adult works with those children with special needs for maximum benefit. How to use The introduction of the concept of beginning blends needs to be done thoroughly. When I work with children, especially those with a special need, I first like to teach children to blend two consonant letters. Then I work on developing the children's phonemic awareness: that being the ability to hear two consonant letters blended at the beginning of a word, easily. I will use flashcards - a time-honoured, efficient method of teaching, to help them become familiar with the blends, asking them to both read and write the blends. This is difficult for some pupils and takes a lot of practice. These worksheets can assist by first encouraging students to blend the two consonant letters and then by helping them to hear the blend at the start of a word. As often as possible, practice blending the letters in each initial blend and encourage the students to follow suit. I find that modelling is key at this stage. Who are the initial blends Find and colour worksheets for? Young learners Those with a special need Due to their non-babyish nature, they can be successfully used with older ESL/EFL pupils.

Celebrate International Girls in ICT Day with this fun Word Search Worksheet Activity for students in 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades. This activity is really cool because it helps students learn about technology concepts, coding, computers and how girls are doing great things in ICT. It is perfect for classrooms, homeschooling or small group learning. This activity is fun. Also helps students learn while building their reading and thinking skills. Objective: Students will learn about technology words. Get better at spelling and reading. They will also get better at paying attention to details and solving problems on their own. Students will understand how girls and women are important in technology and innovation. Here is how to do the activity: Give students the word search puzzle. Students should look at the technology word list before they start. Set a timer for 7 to 12 minutes to make it more fun and challenging. Students. Highlight or circle each word in the grid. Students should check each others work. Go over the answers together to make sure students understand. This activity is for students in 2nd to Grade, which is for kids who are 7 to 11 years old. There are options to make it easier or harder for students. You can use this activity in ways. It is great for literacy centers, computer lab activities or for kids who finish their work early. It can be used at the start of class for groups or as an independent activity. Answer Keys are included, which makes it easy to grade and for students to check their work. There are ways to use this activity. You can make it a speed challenge where students try to find all the words. Students can work together. Check each others puzzles. Donald Duck in Mathmagic Land is a great video that helps students understand the importance of mathematics in everyday life. Essentially, the video explains to students how mathematics can be helpful in real life and the video gives students examples on how math can be seen in nature and in everyday objects! The video uses a simple format to explain complex ideas for students. I used to be a substitute teacher for many years, and this was one of the lessons that I always carried with me while substituting 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade (just in case I needed to fill in time). This will be a great lesson for your regular classroom instruction or as an emergency lesson plan. Additionally, it is a great video to show students interested in math. These 16 teacher-generated questions will keep your student's attention during this informative video. After words, have the students complete a word search on key vocabulary from the video (I have included easy, medium, and difficult word searches for you to choose from). Famous Explorers of the World word search, scramble and crossword I made this famous explorers puzzle set for my 4th graders during our world history unit. The kids could name Columbus but had no idea about Magellan, da Gama, Cook, or other explorers from around the globe. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Columbus, Magellan, da Gama, Cook, Cabot, Hudson, Pizarro, Cortes, Lewis, Clark, exploration, voyage, discovery, route, and navigation. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the names and their accomplishments finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about who was the first to circumnavigate the globe. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple ship and compass drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one explorer and write what they discovered on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
