Having fun activities that will keep students engaged are key during the first few weeks of school. These memory book pages are perfect together, or on their own. You could also put them with my other Memory Book Pages products that have all about me pages and cover pages. This resource gives you 3 different pages to give to students. One is all about the first day. Students write how they're feeling, what they're excited about, and what their favorite part so far has been. The second page is an all about me page. Students give details about themselves. There are two pages, one with a boy and one with a girl. The third page has 12 boxes with each of the months. Students write down the names of their classmates that have birthdays in each month. This would be great to complete whole group, and it helps students get to know each other. Each page is created so that students can color and make them their own. These pages would be fun to put into a book and kept during the school year. You could hand them back at the end of the year. Students love seeing how much they've changed. You'll receive a pdf with 4 pages.

Play Back-To-School charades as you normally would play charades. The Jitter Glitter is perfect for back to school. All you’ll need to complete this activity is some glitter and some small clear bags. There are a few different options included: 1) The poem- hand this to students and parents during ice cream social/meet the teacher night before school starts. You can just give them the bag with the glitter. 2) There are also bag tags to make them a little fancier! Just print, cut and staple the bag tags onto a ziplock bag! 3) The other option could be to put the poem and glitter into an envelope or bag and use the TOP SECRET labels . They can open it with their parents at bedtime the night before school. That would make it very special and mysterious!

Back to School Writing Activity: Rocket Craft Blast Off

Kickstart the beginning of the school year with an exciting and enjoyable back-to-school writing activity ! Our "Blasting Off IN" writing activity is guaranteed to make the start of the year a blast for your students. Students will be making a rocket shape book. There is a graphic organizer where students will fill out information about what they're looking forward to, what they're excited about, and what makes them nervous. You can use this, or you can have students write about something you already have. Students can color the rocket. You could have them add the words, "___ Grade Will Be A Blast! The second page is a rocket with lines for students to write. After students cut and color, you'll staple the two rocket pages together to make a book. (I would staple just at the top). These would look really cute on a back to school bulletin board, or out in the hallway for people to see what your students have created. Having fun and engaging back to school activities will help those first few hectic weeks go smoothly. I have several other back to school activities in my store. Take a look!
