What's inside this resource
A to Z about me this year: twenty-six letter prompts give students in grades 3 to 6 a concrete question to answer for every letter, from an animal they would be for a day to the zone where they feel calm. It works as a first-week getting-to-know-you activity that ends with something students can share.
The A–Z chart runs across pages 1 and 2. Each row has a letter tile, a specific prompt (such as "Breakfast I could eat every morning" or "Volunteer job I would try in my community") and a full-height answer line, and half the rows carry a small picture. A hint strip tells students their answer can start with any letter and that they may write "pass" on a prompt they would rather skip.
Follow-up tasks
- Letter interview: partners swap charts, ask two questions about one letter and record something new they learned
- Zoom In on Three Letters: students pick three chart answers a new friend should know and write one or two sentences about each, with an example to follow
- Sum it up: students give their whole chart a book title
Format: 3 student pages, available as a color file and an ink-saving black and white print file. Every answer is personal, so there is no answer key.

Page 3 can stand on its own as a follow-up lesson; its header has no Name line, so ask students to write their name at the top if you print it separately.
