In this art lesson, I teach students all about self-portraits, including what a self-portrait is and how to create one. My PowerPoint presentation will share with your students some self-portraits by famous artists, how to discuss facial features and skin tones within the classroom setting and how to create a self-portrait including every step of the drawing and painting process. Included in the PowerPoint are easy to follow, detailed steps with photos illustrating each step. I have also included 2 pages of printable stencils to help your students trace the basic outline of a head, neck and shoulder silhouette to get them started and two crown stencils for an optional "Royal Self-Portrait" look that will make your students look like kings and queens. I have also provided 5 pages of reference drawings that students can view while working to help them draw facial features. I have included everything you need to teach your students how to create a self-portrait the easiest way I know how! I know that you and your students will have a great time with this project.
