Kids in grades 1 through 4 will be engaged with the story, “My Busy Brain”, and corresponding activities. With its kid-friendly graphics and rhyming structure, your learners will connect with the story’s main characters, George and Julia. From start to finish, your learners will witness the progression of common ADHD struggles and ways in which they can cope. The story’s ending will leave a smile on the reader’s face and a sense of hope that the multitude of emotions associated with ADHD can be overcome. As a means of extending the story’s message into learners’ lives, there are worksheets and hands-on activities available. Within these pages are real-life ways in which your learners can practice healthy coping and executive functioning skills. They’ll learn to identify 7 emotions, practice breathing techniques, list positive self-qualities, and have the opportunity to make their own fidget toy(s). Not only that, but they will also perform tasks in sequencing, telling time, and writing lists. This product was designed to meet the criteria for several of the SEL Core Competencies, making it a solid addition to your curriculum. All worksheets are print and go, and while the fidget toys do require prep work, your learners will love the hands-on sensory activities. For worksheets with definitive answers, an answer key is provided. Many worksheets are available in both color and black & white formats.
