These letter S reading rings are great for students learning the beginning sound of the letter S. These reading rings give students simple sentences to introduce them to reading in the format of "S is for ____." What is Included: Letter S Reading Ring cover card Letter S reading ring cards The reading rings are available in color and in black and white These reading rings are suitable for preschool and kindergarten students who are learning the initial sound of the letter S and are ready to begin reading simple sentences. The large, bold, and easy to recognize images will lead students towards success as they take the first steps to reading independently. When to Use: Literacy Centers - These cards work well in a literacy or reading center for students to read independently or with a partner. Beware that these are made with color, so in order to be eco-friendly you might want to use black and white ink. Once the students have taken these lists home, they can do the vocabulary test in their next class. They can practice with the words by utilizing the included flash cards. These just need to be printed, laminated, and cut. Beware of sharp edges though. You can use the curved edges version to avoid annoying pinches. Finally, use the Wacky Words activity to have a really good time in class. With this, all the letters are mixed up. Students love this.

Longtime fans have been asking us to make this long vowel resource for a while, and we have finally decided to take the plunge. It turned out to be a pretty awesome resource. First off, use the PDF based digital file to introduce these long vowel sounds to your students. You just open the file and show it full screen. Then use the arrow keys to go from one page to another. This way you can also stop the slideshow if something is too difficult for your students. After this, you can give them the digital multiple choice test. The correct answer will be circled in green and the incorrect ones are red. This makes it abundantly clear what the right answer is. But there are a bunch of printable files as well. How about the vocab lists en tests? And then there are the flash cards too, either with round or with sharp corners. All and all, a very complete resource to practice long vowel sounds.
