After teaching about the bald eagle, it could also be a quick assessment . This resource includes a reading comprehension passage about America's bald eagle. Students color the eagle and answer the questions. I always have my students practice answering the questions in complete sentences. I've provided room for them to do that. I also have provided a few examples of how you could use this product depending on your students' levels. It's important for students to get practice reading for information. A lot of students may already know a lot of facts about the bald eagle, but it's important for them to also practice the skill of answering questions. This product can work for a few different grade levels. Third graders learn about symbols and landmarks important to our country. Fifth graders learn about American history, and this reading assignment could be a nice addition.

The objective is for students to have a deeper understanding of the moon and the Earth and be able to identify the differences and similarities between the two. I use the first page as a springboard for discussion about what the students notice about the two.
