Bee Prewriting Tracing Lines

Bee Prewriting Tracing Lines
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Seasons, Fall, Holidays, Thanksgiving, Writing, Handwriting, Kindergarten, Preschool, Activities

These bee themed prewriting tracing card activity gives students ample practice with handwriting by having them trace a wide variety of lines, including straight lines, zig zags, curves, and loops. These tracing lines will help guide students to learn to write from left to right to mimic how students will eventually learn to write words and sentences. There are two sets of cards in this product: One set has a colorful boarder that you can be printed on white paper. The bright colors of this set will keep students engaged with tracing. One set has a white border. The less busy background is perfect for students who may become distracted by the extra patterns and colors. Ways to Use Writing or Fine Motor Center - Place these cards in a writing or fine motor center for students to practice tracing the lines or placing manipulates onto the lines. Write and Wipe Activity - Laminate the cards to create a write and wipe activity. Morning Tubs or Baskets - Place the cards in a morning tub for students to complete as their classmates arrive to class. Small Group Activity - The teacher can pull aside students who need extra writing practice to complete these cards. There are several ways you can prepare these cards. You can create a fine motor center by adding small manipulatives to lay on top of the lines. By adding tongs, the teacher can add more fine motor practice. You can laminate the cards and create a write and wipe activity using dry erase markers. A third way to use these cards is to add cotton swabs and paint for students to place dots on the lines. Be sure to instruct students to start at the left and move to the right, directing them to guide the bee to its hive. These insect themed prewriting cards are a low prep activity for teachers to prepare for students. There are two options for creating these cards. One is to cut them apart and have students complete in one of the way listed above. The other is to leave the sheet whole and simply laminate. The cards can easily be stored in a pencil box so that this activity is easy to set up, clean up and store.

Attitude of Gratitude (Things I'm Thankful For)

Attitude of Gratitude (Things I'm Thankful For)
Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Thanksgiving, Grade 4, 5, Activities

Attitude of Gratitude: Things I’m Thankful For, is a character building activity to use when you've run out of steam. So you’re ready for Thanksgiving recess, and the only thing your kids talk about is what they’re gonna eat for the holiday. Unfortunately, they tend to forget that Thanksgiving is so much more than turkey, food and fun. This Attitude of Gratitude resource will help them realize the true meaning of the season, and appreciate their blessings. Without a doubt, your class will think about the things they're thankful for when writing them on colorful cards. As educators, we know that when we do something kind or charitable for another person, it is not only beneficial to them, but it allows us to feel some warm fuzzies too. This good feeling is something we hope to instill in our students, especially during the holiday season. ※ Experts say:※ ※ A thankful person spends less time comparing himself/ herself to others which leads to less jealousy. ※It helps children realize that others can do something nice for them even though they don’t have to. ※It gives children the ability to understand other people’s feelings and to have a sense of belonging in the classroom community. ✎ This is what you’ll get:✎ ✎ Complete lesson plan ✎ Colorful set of lined and unlined cards ✎ Black/White lined and unlined cards ✎ Images for your Thanksgiving Box ✎ Now for a bit of my story:✎ When I did this activity with my 6th graders, they loved it because it gave them a chance to look within and realize how lucky they were. I was amazed at some of the things they wrote. Andres was thankful for his grandpa who helped him deal with his parent’s divorce. Kayla felt that she couldn’t do anything right and was thankful to me for helping her realize that she had many abilities, among them was drawing , she was truly an excellent artist. Jeremiah was so thankful that his favorite uncle was a cancer survivor. You never know what’s going on in a child’s life. Of course, this caused me to shed a few tears. Needless to say, we all went home that Wednesday looking at Thanksgiving a little differently. ✿This resource can be used for:✿ ✔ Middle School ✔ Upper Elementary ✔ Special Ed Classrooms ※ Lessons to engage, challenge, excite and be remembered long after they’ve left your classroom. ※ Copyright©2016 Deann Marin (Socrates Lantern) All rights reserved by author. Get ready to gobble up some creativity with the Thanksgiving Traditions Writing Prompt! This fun and festive activity gets kids thinking about what makes their Thanksgiving celebrations uniquely theirs, whether it’s a feast fit for royalty or a day spent dodging burnt stuffing disasters. Writing and drawing take center stage in this perfect blend of reflection and hilarity. First, students will dive into their family’s traditions. Do they watch football with a side of pie? Go on a turkey trot that’s more “stroll” than “run”? Or perhaps their family’s tradition involves grandma’s famous sweet potato casserole (with a marshmallow topping so high it needs its own zip code). Kids will craft their best descriptive writing, sharing the quirks, laughs, and delicious details of their Thanksgiving Day. Next comes the artistic twist! Students will illustrate their favorite tradition. Whether it’s a turkey-shaped centerpiece, a chaotic kitchen scene, or Uncle Bob snoozing in front of the TV with pumpkin pie crumbs, these drawings bring their stories to life. This activity isn’t just about celebrating Thanksgiving traditions, it’s about discovering what makes the holiday truly special: food, family, and enough laughs to stuff your heart as full as your plate! Enjoy!

Each page is a fresh surprise, with dots patiently waiting to transform into festive scenes. As students follow the alphabet trail, they’ll be sharpening their letter recognition skills while secretly wondering if turkeys always look this happy before Thanksgiving. (Spoiler: they don’t.) Once the dots are connected, the fun doesn’t stop, kids can color their creations to bring them to life. A neon turkey? Go for it. A pumpkin with polka dots? Why not! It’s Thanksgiving, and anything goes, except skipping dessert. Perfect for classrooms or at-home fun, this activity is easy to set up and keeps kids entertained longer than it takes Aunt Sue to tell her famous “gravy disaster” story. So grab those pencils, and let’s turn those dots into holiday magic, one alphabet letter at a time! Enjoy!

Bring on the Thanksgiving Color by Number fun, where crayons meet comedy! These five pages are packed with festive designs like turkeys who forgot it’s November, pumpkins vying for pie stardom, and a cornucopia so full it’s practically saying, “Don’t judge me, it’s the holidays.” Each section is labeled with a number, and each number matches a color, simple, right? Unless you’re that one kid who insists on making the turkey purple because, and I quote, “It’s my artistic vision.” And honestly, who are we to argue? As your students work through these pages, they’ll unveil cheerful Thanksgiving scenes without even realizing they’re practicing focus and color-matching skills. It’s educational, but let’s keep that between us, no need to ruin the fun with big words. Whether it’s coloring a pumpkin the perfect shade of orange or accidentally turning a pie into an unintentional masterpiece, these pages are guaranteed to deliver laughs and creativity. No stress, no prep, and no arguments over who gets the last crayon. Just good old-fashioned fun—well, as old-fashioned as numbered coloring can get. So, grab your art supplies, and let’s make this Thanksgiving more colorful than Uncle Bob’s questionable holiday sweater. Enjoy!
