Do your students need help with the writing process and writing a simple 5 sentence paragraph.? This product helps students write a 5 sentence paragraph about their hero. Writing about something personal will help students come up with their ideas easier. There are two brainstorm/ graphic organizer pages included in this product. These will help students get all of their thoughts down before beginning the writing process. Before beginning, you could have a class discussion about what makes a hero, and why someone might choose a person to be their hero. The first graphic organizer would be good for students to fill out while following along. I have included some final draft pages for you to use. I also have provided examples of how the graphic organizers might be filled out. I've posted this product for grades 2nd through 4th. How much guidance you give your students would depend on your class's writing abilities. For second grade, you would most likely guide students through this assignment. For 3rd or 4th graders, they may be able to do more on their own.

Sorting Activity: What goes Together - FOOD

In this educational activity , the learner will be presented with a set of food items, such as lettuce, cheese, ham, bread, tomato, pickle, mustard, and mayonnaise, along with a picture card of a sandwich. The goal of the activity is for the learner to sort the food items that go together to make the sandwich. Other food in this activity is baked potato, hamburger, taco, spaghetti, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, hot dog First, provide the learner with the picture card of the sandwich, and ask them to identify the different food items that go together to make the sandwich. The learner can then sort the food items into groups based on their function in the sandwich, such as the bread, filling, and condiments. To make the activity more engaging, the educator can use real food items instead of picture cards, and ask the learner to physically assemble the sandwich. This will not only reinforce the learner's understanding but also provide a hands-on learning experience. Next you can introduce the different food cards and discuss their differences, such as their taste, texture, and nutritional value. Then present the various sorting cards for the different foods and discuss the various different foods that go with the food card. Some food cards may have some of the same sorting cards For example cheese might be on pizza, baked potato, hamburger and a sandwich which makes it a great time to discuss how the some foods fit in with other foods. Lastly you could discuss the importance of a balanced diet and how the different foods contribute to overall health and well-being. The learner can also be encouraged to come up with their own healthy sandwich combinations, using the knowledge they have gained from the activity . By engaging in hands-on sorting the learner can develop important cognitive skills such as attention to detail, observation, and reasoning. It is also easy to individualize and can be used in a group setting or one on one. This activity is easy to create and assemble. Print and laminate for many years of teaching and learning. Enjoy! Students will have fun counting up to 10 and practicing fine motor skills with these winter tens frames counting mats. These mats allow students to get ample practice counting to 10 with the colorful and fun images centered around yetis. Students will want to complete these cards again and again. What is Included: There is one yeti themed mat for each number 1 through 10. Each mat includes colorful and bright images to keep students engaged in counting. How to Use: Students will take a mat. They will look at the number or number word at the top of the mat, and then use playdough, or other manipulatives to count to the given number by adding the manipulatives to the cookie tray.
