TRACING LINES EXERCISES - Dinosaur Theme
ELA, Writing, Handwriting, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, Activities

1. Brief introduction: It is known that it is very important for children to make strokes that are considered a base so that they can later learn to make more complex strokes such as letters, and thus be able to write. Therefore, it is important that teachers devise strategies and/or make an effort to find the best resources so that children can carry out these types of graphic activities with enthusiasm and interest. On this occasion, I have developed these wonderful 15 pages with a dinosaur theme, so that your students can do them with great pleasure and also have fun. 2. Title of the pedagogical resource: Drawing lines with dinosaurs 3. Topic to work on: The graphics 4. Area of knowledge where it should be applied: Graphomotor skills 5. Number of pages contained: This pedagogical resource contains 15 beautiful pages. 6. Is it available in color or white/black? This educational document is done in color, so that it is much more attractive for children. 7. What version is it available in? This document is made in PDF version, so that you can print them directly and do not have problems with the images moving. 8. Editable/Not Editable: This document is not editable. 9. Age at which it can be applied: You can apply this wonderful resource in children of 3,4,5,6 years old who are learning and training to make their first strokes and at the same time, they need those bases to learn to write correctly as well as to hold the pencil in an appropriate way. 10. Tags or keywords that describe the content: graphomotor skills, motor skills, strokes, strokes for children, graphs for children, graphomotor sheets, graphomotor activities, graphomotor exercises 11. Ways to print: I suggest you print this document on sheets. Also, if you want the activity to be more fun, you can laminate or laminate the sheets so that the children can make the strokes using marker, they can erase and practice again and again.

Discovering France: Guided Reading Level N with Lesson Plan

Discovering France: Guided Reading Level N with Lesson Plan
ELA, Resources for Teachers, Reading Comprehension, Reading, Science, Language Development, Vocabulary, Geography, Social Studies, Technology, Grade 2, 3, 4, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets, Teacher Tools, Centers, Activities, Literacy Readers, Quizzes, Quizzes and Tests, Assessments, Lesson Plans

This Discovering France (level n) guided reading book with lesson plan includes: Guided Reading Color Label (front cover x1) This is a quick way to match the book’s demands to what students can generally handle.. The overall goal is to use the level/color to pick books for several smaller groups. To qualify for a certain level, a student is expected to read a book from that level with about 90–94% accuracy. If a student is consistently accurate and understands, move up a level. If the student is struggling at that level, drop down and add more support. Each student will improve at completely different rates, but it is generally one of the best ways to check progress across the class. DOWNLOAD THE CATALOG TO VIEW ALL GUIDED READING BOOKS AVAILABLE (SORTED LEVELS A-Z) Pre-Reading Question (x1) Teacher asks the prompt aloud, can be while showing the cover or first page. Students share what they already know, or make educated guesses from the cover. Prompt them to use the target vocabulary. Write some of their responses on the board to look back at during the reading. Vocabulary Words (x5) Introduce the five words, best doing it one at a time. Start by saying it, while students repeat and then see if anyone knows what it means before reading further. Read through the meaning and try to briefly connect each word to a picture or gesture so it’s meaningful. Ask students to flip through the book pages and point to where they see each of the vocabulary words. While reading the book pause upon coming across one of the vocab words or read the sentence twice to make sure students understand the word has appeared. Optional: Ask students to raise hands whenever they see/hear one of the new words. Guided Reading Pages (x10) Check the book snapshot (below) for: primary topic - do you need to prep extra reading or intro materials on this? what is taught best - decide on 1-2 bullets to focus on, use the prompt or words provided here for best results. learning goals - what you are checking for students to be able to do after the session, elicit answers using prompts or words provided. key vocabulary (see section above). questions overview - so you know what is coming up and if you need to prep extra materials to assist understanding. Run the lesson You may have already looked at a few of the pages together, but you can show them some of the pictures again first to set meaning. Depending on how much time you have and how familiar your students are with guided reading class, you may want to read the book aloud first with the group first. Students whisper or partner read, while you listen in. If time, do it as a group, one student reading a page each. Use the guided page’s prompts to coach: “Check the picture / does it make sense?” “Point under the words / try the first sound” “Reread the sentence smoothly”. Try to focus more on one student per session (rotating every time), so you can work out if they are ready to move up or need to move down a level. Comprehension Questions (back cover x3) This is your way to check that students didn’t just say the words, but actually understood the text. First, let students answer by pointing to the page/picture and saying a short sentence. After any answer, follow with: “Show me where you found that in the text.” In bigger groups, have partners answer first (10–20 seconds), then call on 2–3 students to share. Differentiation tips: Emerging speakers/struggling readers: oral + pointing On-level: oral in a full sentence Higher: one written sentence or draw + label Book Snapshot Title: Discovering France Genre: Nonfiction Subject: Social Studies (Geography/Culture) Primary Topic: France’s location, landmarks, regions, and culture Estimated Guided Reading Level (A–Z): N What This Book Teaches Best Geography basics about France , including where it is located and how its shape leads to a nickname. Spring Acrostic Poetry

Spring Acrostic Poetry
ELA, Literature, Poetry, Not Grade Specific, Activities

Acrostic poems are a fun way to practice vocabulary, spelling, using adjectives, and creative writing! These types of poems encourage learners to be picky about the words they choose, and to pay attention to detail. My students greatly enjoyed illustrating the borders of their acrostic poems with their own drawings! These are great for spring bulletin board displays! These acrostic poems with a spring flower border, for example, look wonderful and festive for the spring season! They are a fun way to practice writing, descriptive words (adjectives, nouns, verbs, etc.), and great for all grades and ages! You can make the acrostic poems as advanced or simple as you'd like, depending on the age of your learners and what skills they are learning. I have challenged more advanced learners to use five adjectives, five verbs, and five nouns in their poems, for example. Acrostic poetry is a fun way to teach learners how to choose their words wisely and carefully, as the goal of the poems is to paint a picture in the mind of the reader - without writing out paragraphs and lots of sentences. It is a way to teach the importance of not using too many 'filler' words, and being specific in their writing. This product comes with forty five spring acrostic poetry templates. With each template comes an outline matching the word for learners to color and add their own details to. Learners can also decorate the borders of their poetry with their own illustrations - bringing their words, descriptions, and ideas to life!

FULL CATALOG OF DOWNLOAD LINKS AND ENCYCLOPEDIA INDEX HERE Lesson Snapshot Title: Honey Genre: Nonfiction (informational text with headings) Subject: Reading (Informational Text) / Life Science Primary Topic: How bees make honey and why it varies Estimated Guided Reading Level (A–Z): P What This Lesson Teaches Best Explains the step-by-step process of how bees turn nectar (and sometimes honeydew) into thick honey stored in honeycomb cells. Teaches key science ideas using clear cause/effect language (enzymes change sugars; bees spread liquid so water can evaporate; honey thickens). Shows how a honey’s flower source affects its color and flavor, with examples (alfalfa vs. buckwheat). Clarifies that honey can become grainy/solid because sugar crystals form, not because it is “going bad.” Describes bee colony roles (queen, workers, drones) and explains that honey is made mainly to feed the colony. Learning Goals Explain, using details from the passage, how nectar becomes honey in a hive. Identify at least two changes that happen to the liquid as bees process it (enzymes change sugars; water evaporates; honey thickens). Describe why honey can taste and look different based on its flower source, including one example from the text. Explain why honey may turn grainy or solid in a jar, according to the passage. Describe why bees make honey and name the colony members mentioned (queen, workers, drones). Key Vocabulary From the Text nectar — sweet liquid that comes from flowers. honeydew — sugary liquid that comes from insects like aphids. enzymes — substances in bees that help change sugars. evaporate — when water changes and leaves as vapor. foraging — searching for food. Cored Ed Encyclopedia Overview The Cored Ed Encyclopedia is a weekly series of lessons that you can pick up and use right away. These short readings fit into whatever time you have available. Each one includes a warm-up, a reading, and a set of questions, but it’s flexible — you can do just the reading, the full lesson, or skip the writing section if you need to. Each lesson focuses on a single topic so students don’t get lost. The writing is clear but never childish, making it perfect for grades two through five. Topics range from animals and science to history, inventions, and everyday things. No matter the level of the student, everyone should take away at least one new idea or fact from each lesson. The materials are easy to print, easy to explain, and require no setup. They work well for whole-class teaching, partner work, or independent study.

This CVC unit is engaging for students as they practice reading and learning the short vowel sounds while students cut and make the words, trace the words, write the words, and stamp out the words. Reading short vowel / rhyming words is an introduction to reading. Repetitive practice of reading these words is also another fundamental practice to help students read. In this unit, students will practice word families that have the same ending. Teach students that word families rhyme and only have a different beginning sound. For each word family, students will practice making, tracing, writing, or stamping six different words. Some of the words are proper nouns or names given to people or pets. There are also nonsensical words that are not real. The purpose of these words is to teach how to sound out words only within the same word family.
