If you have a problem finding the right colours, you can generally substitute a different colour if you need to. Simply look at the answer key to see what the pictures are and choose an appropriate substitute colour. Colour by number You will only need to print the worksheets and allow the students to colour the squares themselves. Preparation: Worksheets 3 printing options: 1. Full colour - best if you will be able to use all the same colours that I have used. 2. Partial colour – I have left the colours blank. You will need to tell your students what colours to use for each number before they can start the activity . This is best if you need to make some substitutions because you are printing on colour paper and cannot find all the correct colours. 3. Black and white - like with the partial colour version, you will need to tell your students what colours to use for each number before they can start the activity . Squares Pages If you are using this resource as a cut and paste activity . 2 printing options: 1 .Colour squares pages (Print on white paper. These classic poem types are more hands-on than traditional pen-on-paper writing, making them a great way to bust up boring classroom routines! Black-out and found poetry are highly flexible activities . These can be "filler" activities for half-days or can take days to finish. I usually give my students one day for each poem type plus a day to make sure both are finished. Then, I hang all of them up in the hallway for an easy, beautiful display of student work.
