This is a set of Dolch Sight Words Cards, Level PP. What You Get: This is a 3-page printable with a total of 40 word cards and a "Level PP" cover card. Use these sight word cards as practice or review for your students reading at a primer level. Directions 1. Print, laminate, and cut the cards out. Note: These cards do have colored borders, so if you prefer black and white, please make adjustments in your printer settings. 2. If desired, punch a hole in the corner of each card and place on a ring clip. Memory Game Another way to use the cards is to print two sets of the cards to create a memory game. 1. Have students sort two sets of the cards in even rows, turned over so no words are showing. 2. Each child takes a turn turning over two cards. When two of the same sight word cards are turned over, the child reads the word and keeps the pair. The child who found a pair keeps playing until no pair is found. Here are five phonic games to help in the teaching of consonant blends. Many children struggle with consonant blends, but these games can help take the stress out of learning! All children like a game- not least for the one to one time with an adult! How to use The games are easy to make and easy to play, needing no other equipment than in some cases a feely bag/little box in which to put cards. Simply print out the pages needed for each game and play - print and play. To make the games last longer, I suggest laminating the boards and the picture/letter cards as appropriate. What is included? Game 1: Match each blend to the picture that begins with it. Game 2: Cut up the word cards and take it in turns to find the consonant blend missing letter cards - either of an initial or final blend. Game 3: Find the missing letter of an initial blend Game 4: Find the initial blend for each word card Game 5: Read and match the CVCC word with a short vowel sound to the picture Who are these games for? Children of all abilities will love these games . They have been tried and tested on many children. They were devised by a teacher with many years of experience in teaching children of all abilities to read and spell with phonics. They are best played one-to-one with an adult so that the adult can model sounding out and reading words with a consonant blend. Once a child is more confident, two children can be asked to play together while an adult supervises. As the children play these games , the sie teacher will observe the reading and spelling strategies being used by the child to ensure that the child is noy learning to guess. Phonic games help to take the stress out of learning so they are great for pupils with special needs (including those with dyslexia) who need that bit of extra practice.
