Decorative Writing Sheets for Secondary Students
Science, Seasons, Holiday & Seasonal, Summer, Spring, Common Core, Handwriting, Writing, ELA, Math, Homeschool Templates, Activities, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets, Projects, Classroom Decor, Bulletin Boards, Posters, Teacher Tools, Templates, Coloring Pages
Decorative Writing Sheets for Secondary Students Versatile ruled pages for writing, organizing, and personalizing classroom work – in a calm and appealing design 📝🌿 PNG + PDF These decorative worksheets were created with older students in mind. They combine a clean, thoughtful layout with subtle design elements that make them suitable for many classroom contexts – from creative writing to structured math problems. Each page features light, subject-neutral decorations and matching rulings. The rulings are clearly visible but not too dominant, and their colors are coordinated with the overall design. This small detail gives the pages a more polished, motivating look – without distracting from the actual task. What’s included: A selection of printable decorative writing sheets with lines All designs with age-appropriate, calm visuals Rulings in matched color tones for a cohesive appearance PDF format – great for print or digital notebooks (e.g. GoodNotes, Notability) PNG Format Ideas for classroom use: I’ve used these kinds of pages in various ways – for summaries, vocabulary practice, reflections, and even small-scale presentations. Some students appreciate having a “special” page to write on for final drafts or project titles. They’re also useful for open tasks: students might choose how to use the space, which supports creative thinking and independence. Because the sheets are not content-bound, they work well across subjects. Whether you’re teaching language arts, science, or social studies, you can adapt them to your lesson. I’ve even let students use them for personal notes or as covers for their portfolios. They also serve well during quieter phases, in tutoring settings, or as part of personalized learning folders. And for digital classrooms, students can fill them out using a stylus or keyboard. A simple, flexible resource – and a small visual upgrade that shows students their work matters. Music Writing Sheets with Decorative Layout Create space for creativity in music class – with printable sheets for composing, notating, or practicing music theory 🎵✍️ PNG + PDF These music-themed worksheets offer a quiet and motivating way for students to engage with musical notation. Each sheet includes clearly spaced music lineatures (staff lines) and gentle decorative elements to make the learning experience both structured and enjoyable. The color tones of the staff lines are matched to the overall design, giving the pages a calm, coherent look – without overwhelming students who are still learning to read or write music. Whether you’re asking students to notate simple melodies, copy rhythms, or compose short pieces, these pages provide a flexible format that supports focus and neatness. They’re also great for music journals, theory exercises, or creative music tasks. What’s included: A selection of PDF music writing pages with pre-printed lineatures Decorative design elements in subtle tones Coordinated ruling colors for better visual harmony Format: Printable or usable in digital notebooks (e.g., GoodNotes, Notability) PNG Format Ideas for classroom use: In my own music classes, I use these sheets for short composition tasks or to write down musical ideas after listening to a piece. They also work well in project folders or as part of student portfolios. Some of my students like to use them during free work time – writing down simple melodies they've invented or even illustrating their musical ideas. For students who are easily overwhelmed by plain staff paper, the friendly design can reduce the fear of the blank page. The format works well in both primary and lower secondary settings – and it's a great way to combine structure with freedom in creative tasks. These pages don’t replace formal music workbooks – but they’re a welcome addition when you want students to engage with music more openly and personally. Best, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Contractions Posters
Grammar, Language Development, ELA, Grade 1, 2, Posters, Classroom Decor, Anchor Charts, Teacher Tools
Introduce or review many different contractions with these contractions posters and anchor charts. Contractions are created when two words are made into one word. The missing letters are replaced with an apostrophe. Since most contractions follow the same pattern of letter elimination, these posters help to show students the similarity of contractions and how to appropriate spell the contractions. What is Included: There is one poster that focuses on words that use "not" in the contraction. There is one poster that focuses on words that use "will" in the contraction. There is one poster that focuses on words that use "would" in the contraction. There is one poster that focuses on words that use "is" or "are" in the contraction. There is one poster that focuses on words that use "have," "has," or "had" in the contraction. There is one poster that focuses on words that have exceptions or special cases for creating a contraction. These posters use arrows to help students see which letters are removed from each word. By grouping the contractions by similar words, students can easily see the pattern in how contractions are formed from each type of word. How to Use: Classroom Display: The teacher can use these posters as a classroom display for students to see throughout the year. Reference Charts for Centers or Journals: The teacher can place these posters inside a specific center for students to reference when completing tasks. By printing smaller sized, they can be placed in a writing journal for students to reference. Teaching Tool: The teacher can use these posters as a tool to teach about different kinds of contractions. These contractions posters are no prep. They can simply be printed and placed in the appropriate area of the classroom. The teacher may choose to laminate the poster for durability if desired.

ai Sound Mat
Special Resources, ELA, Special Education Needs (SEN), Language Development, Phonics, Spelling, Kindergarten, Preschool, Classroom Decor, Posters, Word Walls, Worksheets & Printables
Here is a super pack of 2 'ai' digraph sound mats for school or home use. One colour version for the teacher and one black and white version for the pupil to colour and use. What is included in the pack? One PDf with 2 pages: one colour mat and one black and white How to use the 'ai' digraph sound mat The 'ai' digraph sound mats can be used in various ways. Here are some ways in which I use them: After having taught my pupils the 'ai' digraph, we often need to revise which words are in the 'ai' family, as opposed to other families with the same sound. Therefore we will have a mat for each sound and we will revise the sound by reading the words in each family, from the sound mat. We learn the little sentence at the bottom as it helps the children to link words in the same family together easily in their minds. I pin the colour version on the wall for easy reference as the child goes around the home/school The child can colour the black-and-white version. As the child colours, the words in the family are grouped in the child's mind. The child can then have the ai digraph word mat on his/her desk as s/he undertakes independent writing activities. Activities: In addition to the above suggestions for use, Here are some suggestions for activities that can be undertaken using the 'ai' digraph sound mat: Can the children write a silly sentence including as many words on the mat as possible? Give the children a minute to look at the mat. Then ask them to turn it over and see how many words they can remember. This activity is particularly helpful in aiding the child to sort words into their various sound families. Tip: Laminating the colour 'ai' digraph sound mat makes it more durable and stand out better on the wall. Who is the 'ai' digraph sound mat for? Teachers Parents Home-education Young learners Those with a special need Due to their non-babyish nature, they can be successfully used with older ESL/EFL pupils. Answer keys: An answer key is not needed.

Grammar Fix it Sentences and Posters
ELA, Grammar, Grade 1, 2, Posters, Classroom Decor
Are you looking for a fun & interactive way to reinforce & teach writing conventions? These posters, fix it sentences and paragraphs do just that! Itintroduces the 5 primary rules for writing: Capitals, spaces between words, spelling, correct end marks and does your writing make sense with fun hands that can be kept "handy" when writing! Fix up sentences and short paragraphsare also included for students to correct. This easy to follow resource which teaches beginning writing in a fun and interactive way is great for early writers! It includes15 posters for the 5 primary rules for writing: Capitals, spaces between words, spelling, correct end marks and does your writing make sense. Sentences and short paragraphsare also included for students to correct. It is tried and true and I have used it with much success in my first grade classroom. Here's What is Included: ★15 Posters for the 5 primary rules for writing listed above. ★Hands with “Give me Five” which includes the 5 primary rules for writing: Do you have capitals, Do you spaces between words, Do you have end marks, Did you use your best spelling and Does it make sense? ★Posters to explain and teach each rule with examples to correct or decide which is the best way to write. There are 15 posters for your use or display, which are created in color and black and white. They can be posted in a writing station/center or can be used as a teaching tool if copied onto the smart board or used in PDF format on your smart board as well. ★A Black and White cover if you decide to make a booklet for each student to use as you teach the concepts or just to have all of the pages in one place. ★26 pages with 5 sentences on each page for students to rewrite and correct. They can be completed as one sentence a day and corrected together or however you choose to use them. ★7 pages of short paragraphs to correct and place end marks as needed to separate the sentences. All pages can be printed onto the smart board to be completed as a class...your choice! ★All pages are duplicated with the corrections as an answer sheet if needed. How I have used these pages with my first and second graders: ★ Laminated and gave each student a hand to clip into their writing journals as a reminder of what he/she needs to remember when writing and for use whenever students are writing. I also placed some of these in areas where students write and in table baskets. ★I copied all posters onto the smart board and used each one separately each week to discuss and teach a particular concept. I told my kiddos that I was looking for that concept in their writing that week. So, if I taught the first poster , which is using capitals at the beginning of sentences, then I was expecting them to remember that and use capitals at the beginning of sentences. I taught and discussed each poster in this manner. Sometimes, for example; I taught more than one concept a week. Perhaps 2-3 a week when using all the times we need to use capitals as there are many posters explaining capitalization. ★I taught capitalization and end marks, I then introduced the Edit pages and at first we did one sentence a day together only focusing on capitalization and end marks. After I felt the students could manage this on their own, they did one sentence, which took a minute or two independently during a quick “Daily Edit” time and we went over it together. Children explained why the correction needed to be made and everyone used a crayon...not pencil...to make their corrections to self reflect on their errors. We then took a few minutes to have a share out...What did you learn...why was that important...how did you know to do that etc. ★ When they seemed fairly competent with this skill, then we moved onto the next poster and continued in this manner doing a few samples together until we completed all the posters. ★When all skills were taught, then we did the daily edit everyday as described above in #3. ★By this time, students were expected to understand what and how to use the conventions. Of course not everyone was proficient!!! The paragraph pages can also be used in cooperative groups or with partners. What was clear after using the “Give Me 5” ideas, was that the students had a tool on which to rely and to use during independent writing. This easy to follow resource which teaches beginning writing in a fun and interactive way is great for early writers!
