This product is perfect for 3rd grade math standards review. It's a worksheet where students review place and value of a digit in a number, as well as rounding to the nearest 10 and 100. While it was created for the 3rd grade standard of writing, 3.NBT.1, it would be a great review for 4th graders before you begin greater rounding of numbers. I find when I teach rounding that a few students understand the concept right away. Several don't. The ones who don't, usually need a visual. This worksheet has students look at two number lines. One is looking at rounding to the nearest 10. The other is looking at rounding to the nearest 100. Having this visual, and having students underline, circle, and color which numbers round up or down, will help your struggling students. Since this is just one worksheet, it would be perfect for review, or even an assessment. Pre-Reading Trivia Students will write down one thing they already know about the subject and then read five more facts and discuss. These facts are fun, and the students will enjoy learning about the subject before reading more. Reading Passage The text is a high-interest reading passage with set paragraphs, roughly three to four paragraphs long. It contains a variety of themes about the topic, anywhere from history to technology. The passage is between 250 and 350 words in length. Mixed Questions The first question page contains four multiple-choice questions, each with a choice of four answers, and three written response questions that require a sentence or two from the student. Vocabulary Questions Practice seven key words from the text in this section across two activities. First section is scrambled words where students will unscramble three words given a clue for each. This is a packet for Author’s Point of View Informational Packet. This was designed for your 3rd and 4th grade reading students. The learning objective is Identifying the author’spoint of view and developing our own points of view in nonfiction text. Included are a slideshow and a printable worksheet set. The slideshow has a set of 18 editable slides. Within the slideshow, students will be presented with many questions at the beginning to allow them to explore and deepen their understanding of author’s point of view. Students will be presented with many questions: -What do we mean by author’s point of view? -What is the author’s attitude or opinion about the topic? Does the author share his or her opinion about the topic? If so, what is it? -What message is the author trying to send? Why has the author written the text? Does the author want to influence your opinion on the topic? -What kind of words does the author use to help make his or her feelings known? What kind of verbs, adverbs, and adjectives are in the text? Within the slideshow, students will get a chance to practice identifying the point of view. There are 6 different informational texts to practice with. For each informational text, there will be 5 questions for students to ask themselves. Because there are 6 practice texts, you can choose to break up the texts. You may begin modeling the first 2 texts without any input from students. Allowing students to see your thought process out loud will help them begin to properly think out loud. With the next 2 texts, students can work in partners or small groups to answer the questions. For the final 2 texts, students can complete them independently by writing their answers on a piece of paper and then discussing their answers out loud. The PDF included has each of the informational texts and their questions in a printable form.

This is a set of Dolch Sight Words Cards, Level PP. What You Get: This is a 3-page printable with a total of 40 word cards and a "Level PP" cover card. Use these sight word cards as practice or review for your students reading at a primer level. Directions 1. Print, laminate, and cut the cards out. Note: These cards do have colored borders, so if you prefer black and white, please make adjustments in your printer settings. 2. If desired, punch a hole in the corner of each card and place on a ring clip. Memory Game Another way to use the cards is to print two sets of the cards to create a memory game. 1. Have students sort two sets of the cards in even rows, turned over so no words are showing. 2. Each child takes a turn turning over two cards. When two of the same sight word cards are turned over, the child reads the word and keeps the pair. The child who found a pair keeps playing until no pair is found.
