Consonant Blends CCVC CVCC Reading Books: Farm Adventures with Tom, Sam & Pam 12 Decodable Stories for Beginning Readers + Teaching Manual | Science of Reading Aligned | Book 2 of the Introductory Level of a Complete Reading Programme Help your students master CCVC CVCC words with a short vowel sound as they read the adventures of farmer Tom, his son Sam and daughter Pam and their adorable animals! This is a decodable reader collection of 12 CCVC CVCC stories, conveniently arranged in one 48-page book that you can print once and use for weeks! What is Included 12 progressive decodable stories with carefully controlled vocabulary in one complete 48-page book Pre-reading word lists that connect new words to previously learned rhyming patterns 100% decodable text using CCVC CVCC words plus only five essential sight words (and, I, go, no, to - building on the initial four: a, the, is, of) characters and themes to which young children will easily relate Beautiful, nostalgic watercolour illustrations Clear, large font and good spacing for ease of tracking, suitable for young learners Science of Reading principles applied throughout A4 format, ready to print and staple Key features: I have endeavoured as far as is possible, while keeping the vocabulary heavily restricted in a way you will not find in many other phonics readers, to keep the language as natural as possible. This is not to encourage natural language guessing, but to move away from phonics ' drills' that are so common and boring at this stage. Each decodable story uses only decodable CVC words and CCVC CVCC with a short vowel sound plus the new sight words (and, I, go, no, to). Pictures make up for lack of words, while discouraging guessing, and essential tenet of the Science of Reading instruction. The vocabulary is carefully controlled. Each story introduces a few new words while reusing previously learned words throughout all 12 stories. This repetition builds fluency and confidence. Children feel secure as readers because they keep meeting familiar words, which develops automaticity naturally. Perfect For Students who can blend CCVC CVCC words Building reading fluency with decodable texts Small group instruction or independent reading Ages 4-6 or early Grade 1 Science of Reading classrooms Special needs children who need a highly structured reading scheme where they can meet the same words over and over again to gain word recognition and reading flunecy. Key skills taught through the CCVC CVCC stories CCVC CVCC word decoding moving through the most common initial and final blends found at this stage of reading. Reading fluency through controlled vocabulary and repetition Application of phonics skills as they read the stories Comprehension skills, as they check their decoding makes sense in a story context. Sight word recognition (a, the, is, of, and, I, go, no, to) Blend pattern recognition How to Use the 12 CCVC CVCC Phonics Stories Teachers should help the child to study the words at the beginning of each story. These include the decodable words and the sight words (labelled 'odd words'). Read the text, encouraging the child to sound out any words that they cannot recall. Encourage sounding out rather than guessing Celebrate the completion of each story Watch fluency develop as familiar words reappear - if it does not, you may need my 'Learn to Read' short vowels programme once the child has also learned to decode short vowel words with consonant blends.: https://teachsimple.com/product/short-vowels-decodable-reading-books-activity-packs Each story is short enough to finish in one sitting, which keeps children engaged and provides them with plenty of practice. The 48-page book provides economical printing, all the stories in one place, and the child will feel success on completion of reading 'a book'. Part of a Complete Reading Programme This is Book 2 of our Introductory Level, part of our structured reading programme, aligned with Science of Reading research. There are many reasons why students are interested in a career in nursing. Some of the main reasons are: a desire to help others, a need to support their family, and an interest in working with children. The nursing workforce will continue to grow in the next few years; as a result, there will be an increased demand for nurses as more people become aware of the need for skilled nursing. In addition to the traditional job opportunities, many students will also be pursuing non-traditional roles. Many students will be seeking part-time work or will choose to work in settings that allow for a flexible work schedule. For many, the work environment is more important than the type of nursing job available. Another reason for nursing graduates to pursue a career in nursing is to take part in the growing number of programs that provide financial assistance and support to college students. Many college students choose to attend nursing programs because of the financial support they receive. Students can receive assistance to help them pay for their education and also receive support in finding employment after graduation.

Phonic Worksheets Phases 2, 3, 4 and 5 BUNDLE: Science of Reading
Special Resources, ELA, Special Education Needs (SEN), Language Development, Phonics, Reading, Spelling, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Complete Phonics Worksheets Bundle - Letters and Sounds Phases 2-5 This is a big bundle of phonics worksheets containing over 450 worksheets covering the Letters and Sounds Phases 2, 3, 4 and 5. It takes students right from learning their initial sounds, through CVC words and consonant blends, all the way to the more advanced digraphs and trigraphs. The materials are science of reading aligned, which means they follow a systematic, structured phonics instruction. Who are these worksheets for? If you're using a Letters and Sounds programme (including the revised versions), these will perfectly fit your teaching sequence. However, please note: this pack does not include worksheets for URE. Even if you're not using Letters and Sounds, you can still use these worksheets very effectively. They are organised according to Letters and Sounds, but the phonics patterns themselves can be used with any programme. Please ensure that your students have already learned the digraphs on each sheet before you use it, and you'll be fine. I've also had teachers tell me they use these for adults/teens learning English as a second language, as well as with older special needs students who need extra reinforcement alongside their regular phonics lessons, because they are non-babyish. The differentiation built into each worksheet makes this really practical. What's actually in the bundle? Four separate PDF books with more than 450 worksheets total. I have tested all of these with my own pupils over many years, so I know they work: The first book focuses on initial sounds - getting students comfortable with letter recognition and beginning sounds. Book two moves into CVC words and words with consonant blends (still keeping short vowel sounds). The third book covers the digraphs from Phases 3 and 4: ck, ch, sh, th, ng, ai, ee, igh, oa, oo, ar, or, ur, ow, oi, ear, air and er. Book four tackles Phase 5 patterns: ay, ou, ie, ea, oy, ir, u-e, aw, wh, ph, ew, oe, au, ey, a-e, i-e, o-e, u-e, e-e, plus 'y' saying 'eye' and 'o' saying 'u'. This final book also brings in the sight words for Level 5 with reading passages and comprehension questions. Why the systematic approach matters Each book builds carefully on what comes before. There aren't any surprise phonics patterns popping up before students are ready for them - which means fewer frustrated children and more success for everyone. Every worksheet is fully differentiated, so you can meet the needs of different ability levels in your class without creating entirely separate activities. Whether you're teaching a whole class, running intervention groups, or supporting special needs learners, you'll find worksheets at the right level. What you get: 4 PDF files containing over 450 phonics worksheets ready to print and use.
