This Project: Compare 2 Dinosaurs of the Golden Age of the Jurassic Period resource is designed for students to engage in research and compare and contrast two dinosaurs of the same period. Students will practice their research skills, writing skills, and presentation skills. The two dinosaurs students are asked to research with this resource are STEGOSAURUS and BRACHIOSAURUS. The information to be found is listed and includes (but is not limited to): Scientific Name: Kingdom: Phylum: Herbivore, Carnivore, or Omnivore? Speed: Where did this dinosaur live? Typical food: Did this animal have a snout? Average length or height: As students begin to find this information, they can fill in the spaces provided for easier organization. Students can present their findings in different ways: Oral presentation, posters , digital slides , brochures, etc. And they also can be required to turn in this resource! Financial Literacy: My Party Budget- Decimals and Percentages Application Unlock mathematics’ real-world influence with this practical math project for students in grades 5-8. This tool allows students to sharpen their intermediate math skills, particularly applying percentage calculations and decimal operations to manage a budget consciously - a vital lesson in financial literacy. This versatile resource is ideal for grades 5 to 8 classrooms as well as high school special education environments where budgeting practice complements life skills training. How to Use: Give each student a party budget. You can choose to give everyone the same budget, OR this is a great way to differentiate. Give students with emerging understanding a budget of $100 (which is easy to work with) and give students who need a challenge a budget such as $240, which will result in more complex calculations. This will also stimulate discussions about budgeting in general and the challenge of planning with less money. Students need to partition their hypothetical party budget across varied cost categories like food, decorations and entertainment by employing basic percent in decimal form and understanding addition and multiplication of decimals. For example, they might decide to spend 50% of their budget on food because that is their favourite part of a party. They will calculate 50% of their total budget. This skill application brings relevance to numbers through experiential learning. You can decide if students should complete calculations by hand or if using a calculator is allowed. Biomes Science Reading Article - Grades 5-7

This reading is geared towards students in grades 5-7 and will help them understand biomes in general as well as specific biomes. The specific biomes included in the reading are; Aquatic, Grassland, Forest, Desert, and Tundra. This reading is perfect as an in-class assignment, homework, or as a sub plan if you're away. It can be incorporated into your regular plans or used as a last-minute emergency activity . The reading will take your students between 4-60 minutes and includes a variety of questions as well as an answer key for your reference. Readings are important because they give your students a chance to learn about the topic in a more applicable way and a different manner. It allows them to develop their scientific literacy skills which is a skill that is not often taught in today's classrooms. This reading contains content that is age-appropriate and is about 3 pages in length including the questions. The reading has about 7 questions along with the answer key. In my classroom, I typically assign my readings as completion marks or I will mark 1-3 specific questions for each student. This allows me to reduce my grading time while still providing a useful teaching tool for my students.

This is an engaging and enjoyable memory game on the kinetic theory of matter which uses the particle model to explain change of state, gas pressure and diffusion. Pupils work in teams of three or four. Each team lays out their 42 cards face down in a square and take it in turn to turn over two cards. If the cards are a question and its correct answer, the pupil keeps the pair. If they are not a match they are turned face down and the next pupil gets a turn. This process continues until all cards are matched and the winner is the pupil with the most pairs. If a team member thinks that the selectors pair is not a correct match, they can challenge. Pupils are encouraged to check their books for the correct answer but the teacher also has a quick-check answer sheet. If the challenge is correct, the challenger keeps the pair.
