This is one reason we like to incorporate music in our learning environments. We don’t have to limit music to music class only for our students. In my store, you’ll find a wide array of music resources that students will love to learn from. This is a music video for your math students in 4th – 6th grade. The title of this song is “The Polygon Polka.”This is a song and video that will have students learn about shapes and their attributes. This video provides explanations and many examples to support student learning. You can implement this video at the introduction of teaching this math skill. The objective is for students to correctly identify the names of different shapes, including their sides and angles. This would be a song that I play multiple times for my students across the course of this unit . Editable Recipe Templates - Create a Recipe Book or a Cookbook - 10 Unique Love-Themed Template Designs for Valentines Day (or any other time of year as is appropriate). Each recipe template: Can be printed with the chosen recipes handwritten onto the cards Can be edited using Google Slides or PowerPoint - Font styles can be changed and more. Links to recipe ideas are included as well. This is a project that can be worked on individually or as a team. Students will practice using Google Slides or PowerPoint software which will increase their knowledge of creating products in these creative software programs. Students will practice typing and/or handwriting. Students can give the finished products to a special friend or family member. Students can try out the recipes in the school kitchen as is possible. A lovely home economics and family consumer sciences project. Students will be developing research skills when they utilize the included links to find recipes and choose ones that they think sound yummy. Finding, choosing, and trying out new recipes are all life skills that will be helpful into adulthood, especially if students are given the opportunity to try out any of the recipes. Students will have fun doing this crafty, unique activity, and they will be learning at the same time. Recipes contain ingredients in specific amounts (math), and have to be followed like a lab experiment to complete and end up with a successful finished product. Two zipped files are included: one non-editable pdf file and one editable PowerPoint file that can be used with Google slides which is a free program.

Solve Linear Equations Domino Game

This file is a domino game for students to practice solving linear equations. The equations include variables on both sides of the equation, fractions and decimals, parenthesis, and negative numbers. Solutions include "no solution" and infinitely many solutions." Teacher Directions: Make copies of the dominoes on colored card stock, cut apart, and place in bags. You will need one bag for every 3 students. Place students in groups of 3. Students will divide the dominoes equally and lay them down face UP in front of them. The student with the "START HERE" domino will place it in the middle. Students will play matching dominoes one at a time. So, they will not play in order and a student could possible play twice in a row. If a student places an incorrect match, the student that calls attention to that fact, AND can explain WHY it is incorrect, can give one of their dominoes to the player that was incorrect. If every player says they do not have the next match, then players will look at their opponent’s dominoes and find the match. The player that finds the correct match from another player and can explain WHY it is the correct match can give one of their dominoes to that opponent. ONLY ONE domino can be placed on another domino even though there could be more than one to match. Exception: If no dominos match the last domino played, then a player may place a second domino on one that is already in play. The player with the most dominos can make this play. The player that gets rid of all of their dominoes first is the winner. Students should show all of their work on notebook paper and turn in at the end of the game.
