Branches of Government word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this branches of government puzzle set for my 4th graders during our civics unit. The kids could name the president but had no idea what the legislative or judicial branches did or why we have three branches in the first place. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like executive, legislative, judicial, president, Congress, Senate, House of Representatives, Supreme Court, justice, law, veto, override, interpret, checks and balances, and Constitution. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the three branches finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about which branch makes laws. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple triangle diagram and building drawings but nothing too busy. We were learning animal names and habitats but the kids were too excited to sit for regular worksheets. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like giraffe, penguin, elephant, zebra, monkey, lion, tiger, and kangaroo. Nothing crazy — just simple puzzles to keep them busy and learning at the same time. ⭐ The PDF is four pages total. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works great for quiet time after recess. The word scramble gets them talking because they argue about how to spell "penguin" every single time. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like chai, Diwali, Holi, rangoli, sari, henna, curry, Bollywood, cricket, namaste, and bhangra. I also threw in a few like dhoti and mehndi because they kept coming up in our conversations . So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using greetings from ten different languages: Hola (Spanish), Bonjour (French), Ciao (Italian), Hallo (German), Konnichiwa (Japanese), Ni hao (Chinese), Annyeonghaseyo (Korean), Namaste (Hindi), Shalom (Hebrew), and Salaam (Arabic). I also threw in a few greetings from less common languages like Jambo (Swahili), Merhaba (Turkish), and Guten Tag (German) just to keep it interesting. The PDF is four pages.
