Stranger Danger Safety word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this stranger danger puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our safety unit. The kids knew not to talk to strangers but had no idea what a stranger actually was or what to do if one approached them. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like stranger, safe, adult, parent, teacher, police, uniform, yell, run, tell, no, go, away, don't, take, gift, ride, car, trick, trust, feeling, and buddy. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the safety rules finally stick without making kids too scared.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a nice-looking stranger is still a stranger. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple stop sign, police badge, and family drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name a safe adult they can go to for help on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
