The Biophilic Blueprint is a total of 41 pages in a PDF format designed as both a complete teacher's guide and a student workbook. This packet utilizes biophilic design concepts to convert traditional Groundhog Day and Valentine's Day celebrations into a rigorous STEM based reading comprehension and education program. By using concepts such as how groundhogs build burrows, the science of hibernation, the shape of hearts, and how species in the environment coexist (symbiosis), students will develop skills such as identifying main ideas, finding supporting details/inferences/cause and effect relationships, vocabulary, sequencing, and text analysis. This educational resource packet provides a thorough theoretical framework for teachers (included in Chapters 1-4 and Appendix) along with items such as 10 fun and engaging student worksheets that incorporate real-world passages related to topics including groundhog engineering; the history of Valentine’s Day; folklore based on meteorology; and examples of how two different species can work together during winter months. The 39 Clues: Maze of Bones Choice Board and Rubric

Choice boards are a great way to reach many interests and abilities in diverse classrooms. Whether needing to differentiate higher or lower, the variety of assignment options allows for student choice at their appropriate response level, and allows teachers to see what students truly grasp from the texts they are reading. The 39 Clues: Maze of Bones, written by Rick Riordan is a novel appropriate for 4th through 6th grades. The choice board includes nine activities and multiple rubrics for teacher choice in grading. The tasks are as follows: Researching Ben Franklin's role as an ambassador (nonfiction reading/writing) Creating a family crest (character analyzation) National and international monument descriptions (social studies cross curricular) character webs and maps (2 assignments) research and reporting (plot + nonfiction reading) personal reflection (reflective writing + plot) compare and contrasting (characters) paragraph writing Each activity included either has a direction sheet with specific instructions or an actual worksheet to guide them through the tasks they fill out. The expectation is set for students to complete three activities in a tic-tac-toe format, but can be utilized in different ways in each classroom. Rubrics are included that allow for open response (and more information included from students), as well as teacher choice in how to assess student knowledge. This educational resource is designed in A4 format and PDF, so you will have no difficulties printing it and it will also stay well-protected. PDF A4 SECONDARY AND COMPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Is the material in color or black and white? This pedagogical document comes in both black and white and color. This makes it more attractive for your learning sessions, but you have the freedom to choose how to print it. What type of resource is it (activities, guide, set, bundle, workbook)? This resource, like many others, can be an activity or a guide. I also invite you to visit my educational store, where you will find a variety of resources such as games, worksheets, and assessments. For what age, grade, or school level is it ideal? I usually create resources for early grades (children ages 3–5), but I also design for primary students (ages 7–12).
