About This Product

Kids like doing things with their hands. That sounds obvious, but a lot of worksheets are really just looking exercises in disguise. This one isn’t.

The setup: four workers — a construction worker, a carpenter, a mechanic, and a gardener — each with their own tools and gear. Students figure out who uses what, then color, cut, match, paste, and fold their way through three pages. The instructions are written so they can handle most of it themselves.

The topic is community helpers and career awareness. Kids learn that a wrench belongs to a mechanic, a hand trowel to a gardener, a saw to a carpenter, a safety helmet to a construction worker — and that some jobs require gear you wear, not just tools you carry. That part’s straightforward.

The less obvious stuff is what makes it useful: following multi-step directions without someone holding their hand through it. In K and first grade, that’s harder than it looks. Same with the cutting and pasting — those skills actually take time to build, and this gives kids a concrete reason to practice them.

It’s three pages, print and go. Use it for morning work, a center, or fast finishers. It fits a community helpers unit without requiring much setup around it.

Format: PDF and images.
