⭐ I made this baby animals vocabulary pack for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our farm and wildlife unit. The kids kept mixing up foal and colt or calling every baby bird a chick. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like cub, calf, kit, pup, joey, tadpole, fry, and larva. Nothing too hard but enough to make them think.

⭐ The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles and one answer key page. The word search is for quiet time or early finishers. The scramble gets them arguing about whether a baby goat is called a kid or something else (it's kid). The crossword works better in pairs. I added a few small animal drawings but kept it clean so it prints nicely.

⭐ Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have them pick three baby animal names and write one fact for each on the back. Takes another ten minutes. The kids actually enjoy these.
