Canada Geography Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this Canada geography puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our North America unit. The kids knew Canada was north of the US but had no idea about provinces, territories, or words like tundra or boreal forest. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Canada, province, territory, Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Yukon, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, Ottawa, maple leaf, moose, tundra, and Rockies. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether Toronto or Ottawa is the capital. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple maple leaf and moose drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one Canadian province and its capital on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
