Christmas 2D Shapes Sorting Mats

What is Included:

This resource includes one set of Santa sorting mats. There are mats for the following shapes: rectangle, triangle, star, heart, circle, pentagon, hexagon, octagon, diamond, rhombus, and square. There are also cookie shapes that students can use to sort onto each mat.

How to Use:

• After choosing the desired sorting mats, students will place the correct cookie shapes on the correct mat. Students can work alone or with a partner to complete this sorting activity.

Where to Use:

• Morning Tub or Basket - These sorting mats work well as a morning activity for students to work on as their classmates arrive to class.

• Math Center - Place the mats and sorting cards in a math center for students to work on matching each shape.

• Small Group Activity - Teachers can pull aside small groups of students who need extra practice with recognizing or identifying 2D shapes.
