Compose & Decompose Numbers 11-19 cover with directions: pull a number card and fill ten frames with monkey counters
Read the setup steps before prepping the math center
Double ten frame mat, one blue and one green, where students place monkey counters to build teen numbers as ten and ones
Print several mats so partners can each build numbers
Number cards 11 to 16, each showing a waving monkey beside the numeral, for students to draw and then build with counters
Cut apart and shuffle into a draw pile
Number cards 17, 18 and 19 with a waving monkey on each, completing the teen number set students pull to build on mats
Add to the earlier cards to finish the 11-19 deck
Monkey counters: 24 round cut-out tokens, each with a smiling monkey, used to fill ten frames when making teen numbers
Laminate and cut out for reusable manipulatives
Teen number recording sheet: students solve 10 + 5, 10 + 2 and seven more sums and shade two ten frames to show each
