This free farm animals crossword is a simple first puzzle for kindergarten through grade 2. Eight answers, from COW and PIG to SHEEP and HORSE, fit a small grid, and each clue is spoken by the animal itself: "I say moo. I give milk." A three-step how-to strip and a BALL example show children where an answer begins and which way it goes. A word bank runs along the bottom, below a line marked for folding under when a child wants a challenge.
A second student page keeps the farm words working. In Part 1, children name six pictures, such as a fox and a web, and fill in the missing vowel. Part 2 asks them to sort the eight crossword animals into two-legged and four-legged groups. In Part 3 they draw one of the animals and write a sentence about what it does. A short "Did you know?" card explains how bees help farm crops grow.
