Fairy Tales Cinderella word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this Cinderella puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our fairy tale unit. The kids loved the story, but they kept mixing up words like "pumpkin," "slipper," and "godmother." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words from the classic tale like Cinderella, prince, ball, fairy godmother, pumpkin, slipper, mice, midnight, stepmother, and castle . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "Cinderella" or whether the slipper was glass or crystal . The crossword I use for partners, and I usually have a picture of a glass slipper and a pumpkin carriage nearby for the kids who need a visual clue .

Works for 1st through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw a picture of Cinderella's carriage on the back and label it with three words from the puzzle. The kids actually ask for these now.
