In this FREE Figurative Language Tasting Activity, you will provide students with small treats (think a mint or a couple of pretzels) to eat. Students will practice basic figurative language techniques by describing the appearance, taste, smell, and eating experience for each treat.

This activity is a great lesson to use at the beginning of a poetry unit, in the first week of a creative writing class, or any time your students are getting squirrelly or apathetic (like right before a break!). You can even use it for additional figurative language practice if you notice students need a review.
