Healthcare Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this healthcare careers puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our community helpers unit. The kids could name doctors and nurses, but they had no idea about the incredible variety of other healthcare jobs like radiologist, pharmacist, or physical therapist. They kept asking questions like "Do you have to be a doctor to work in a hospital?" So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like doctor, nurse, dentist, surgeon, pediatrician, pharmacist, radiologist, dermatologist, paramedic, EMT, physical therapist, and dietitian.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "pediatrician" or how to pronounce "dermatologist." The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've learned about different healthcare jobs. I added a couple simple stethoscope, bandage, and pill drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one healthcare career from the puzzles and write what they do on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
