High-Frequency Words Set 3 word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this high-frequency words puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our reading unit. The kids could read most common words but still stumbled on trickier ones like "beautiful," "different," or "important." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like beautiful, different, important, interesting, together, sometimes, something, nothing, anything, everything, especially, finally, immediately, actually, probably, possible, impossible, reason, remember, several, and therefore. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the more advanced high-frequency words finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about how to spell "beautiful" or "important." The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple star and dictionary drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one word and use it in a sentence on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
