Jobs and Careers word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this jobs and careers puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our social studies unit. The kids could name a few jobs like teacher and doctor but had no idea about careers like architect, plumber, or graphic designer. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like teacher, doctor, nurse, police, firefighter, chef, farmer, mechanic, plumber, electrician, architect, artist, musician, writer, and pilot. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the career names finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about who flies an airplane. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple tool and uniform drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw what they want to be when they grow up on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
