Measure It! directions: students measure classroom objects and find how much longer one is than another in standard units
Read aloud to introduce the measuring task
Object cards to measure: pencil, desk, book, paper, board, lunchbox, chair, you and your friend, each with a picture
Cut apart and draw two cards to pick objects to compare
More object cards: television, door, flag, bookcase, window, computer, paperclip, crayon and eraser, each with a picture
Add to the card set for more measuring pairs around the room
Comparing lengths recording sheet: students write two objects, each length, and the difference in lengths for 5 pairs
Student record sheet to fill in while measuring
